Shipping Items from Aus to UK

Hi,

I think this is the right section of the forum, but if not please can somebody move it?

I am looking for recommendations on companies that ship personal items from Aus to UK. Mainly to find out who is cheapest, offers best service, and who has had any good/bad experiences?

Thanks!

I am actually looking for recommendations, google doesn't really provide that. I've been goggling, and there are plenty of sites offering shipment but it would be good to know how people have got on with companies' and who knows, I may be missing something. Isn't that the whole point of a forum???

    • What sort of volume/weight are you talking?

The most common is students sending or taking stuff home.

Then give us more info and what you've looked at so far

Info like how many boxes/items, the types of items, how soon you need it at the destination and quotes of what you've found so far.

People can then provide feedback and/or advice.

Your original post can be perceived as lazy and generic which results in the generic 'why don't you you google' responses.

  • What do you want to ship - weight and number of boxes?

  • It depends on volume and items. Best to ask all the ones you find on Google for a quote. Everyone will have a different margin at certain volume. Some cost cheaper when the package is smaller, some cost more at lower volume.

Weight is almost irrelevant for bulk shipping. Because you will be sharing a container so volume is the main price determining factor. The companies will also provide you a set number of boxes as part of the service.

I used https://www.sevenseasworldwide.com/ before. Not too bad, but I moved from Singapore to Sydney.

EDITED: Oops.. just saw someone posted them before.. sorry.

  • thanks for the comment guys. I am moving mainly clothes, and books - so it will be one box which will weigh approximately 20kgs.

    I've looked at

    DHL - approx $400
    Excess - International - $329
    Seven Seas $360

I've requested quotes from others too but awaiting those.

I'll take a look at the whirlpool link too, so thanks for posting that.
