Health Insurance via Compare The Market: $140 Cashback via Cashrewards

290

Cashrewards + CompareTheMarket
Bonus $140.00 Cashback

Compare and buy a combined hospital and extras health insurance policy through Compare the Market and you'll receive cashback just by clicking through Cashrewards.

Special Terms

  • combined hospital and extras
  • must purchase the policy online through CompareTheMarket's website.
  • Your Cashrewards email must match the same email you provide to CompareTheMarket.
  • Minimum hold period: 45 days
  • This offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer

This seems to be a good deal since I manage to get a hospital+extras quote as low as $79 per month, by holding for 45 days (costing about $120) I can get $140 cashback in Cashrewards. This equals 45 days Free health insurance and a $20 in pocket.

My question for CashRewards StoreRep is whether this cashback will work in conjunction with offers provided by individual Health insurers. For example, does this stack with NIB's $200 Visa Gift Card offer, or AHM's Waiting Period waived cover?
(Edit: NIB $200 gift card offer got taken down and is now not available through CTM)

If the answer is yes this could easily be the best offer for Health Insurance so far :) - TA please correct me if I am wrong

I’m down if I can combine the offer with Medibank 130000 flybuys free month n so on

Thanks OP, if this offer could be used with NIB’s $200 Visa e-gift card, I would definitely be down for it. I am with Medibank for far too long and they are burning my pockets deep.

Let us know when the store rep gets back to you, heaps appreciated!

    • I don't think you can stack these offers though since in NIB's terms and conditions for the $200 visa egift card deal, it mentions "the
Eligible Entrant must successfully purchase an Eligible Product during the Offer Period through one of the nib’s approved online channels (using the nib website www.nib.com.au, nib mobile site or tablet)."

Ok thanks heaps for checking out

Just a tip, I went on their website to checkout health insurance a couple of months ago and didn't make a decision, I was quoted on a couple of policies and about a week later I was sent an email saying that they were gonna offer me a $200 eftpos card if I took out a cover with them. I was only quoted for extras cover and when I called back to check, it was right, so in the end I signed up, and got $200 after 45 days. I've never seen just extras cover being eligible for these kinds of deals, especially for such a large amount. So maybe try that before you jump on this as it seems to be a good deal

    • Silly question, does extras only cover count for tax purposes, or do you always need to get hospital + extras for tax purposes?

      • only hospital cover counts for tax purposes. It is only applicable if you earn $90k (single) or $180k (with spouse)

    • my silly question: whose website are you referring to? comparethemarket?

Yep this stacks with other offers from the fund

    • Nice! just wondering if you have a confirmation for this? 😊
It’ just sounds too good to be true!!

      • Yeh they told me

        • Great!! Thank you very much!

        • @b0b0:
Hey sorry i funny think it will stack with any offers that aren't showing on CTM website

So nib is out but bupa and myown have offers

    • You mean you have checked and the $140 cash back from Cashrewards could go together with the funds NIB $200 Visa e-gift card?

      • Yes, or Bupa or any other fund

Just binned my private health insurance.

Did the sums and it's not worth it, regardless of the fearmongering by the life time health cover loading blackmailing.

It depends on how you value the cashback and gift cards. doineedhealthinsurance.com.au doesn’t factor in $140 cashback and giftcard.

I think both the scenarios below worth it, if you like cashback and/or gift card

      Scenario 1
      - signup using cashrewards link, stay for 45 days get $140 cashback
      - sign up with NIB, get $200 gift cards
      - pay premium (which will be about $160 for 2 months for myself)
      - run away with a profit of ~140+200-160=$180

      Scenario 2
      - sign up using cashrewards link, stay for 45 days get $140 cashback
      - sign up with AHM (waived extra cover waiting period)
      - pay premium (which will be about $160 for 2 months)
      - Get dental check up, and new glasses
      - run away with $20 out of pocket but got dental done and new glasses made (to me this is worth $200-$300)

This is good enough for me 😊

      • Hmmm…. not bad. Not bad at all ;).

But family cover blows this out of the water for me. For a single though?? Worth the stuffing about I reckon… I know I would :).

NIB one has now been taken down… is option 2 still available?

        • Options 2 seems to be available still. I just signed up for my wife (signing up separately so each of us gets cashback from cashrewards)

Just so that all risks are mitigated, you have 30 days cooling off period from health insurer with full refunds provided

Seems like you may not be eligible for the 1 month free with ahm? The terms mention excluded 3rd party sites.

So for ahm at least, if you're premium is more than 140 a month may as well sign directly?

Thoughts? Or does Compare the market offer further sweeteners?

  • cant see $200 card with NIB, only offers me discount for paying with DD.

    australian unity offer $100 though

    • I can’t see the NIB $200 card ether plus compare the market didn’t have BUPPA OR Medibank 🙁

    • I just checked. This got taken down

  • would be good if we can stack up the promotions

    • would be good if Cashrewards rep can verify for us. Has anyone ring up Cashrewards?

I have already signed up hoping that this will work (worst case there is a 30 day cooling off period…)

Well u need CUA bank account and pay from it to get $200 cash back

  • Got an email that AHM is now offering the month free as before + 70,000 BONUS POINTS for families, couples and single parents or collect up to 35,000 BONUS POINTS for singles. 70000 = $350 in dollars.

    Seems decent.

    • Do you mind me asking, what are those 70000 points - are there flybuys?

      • Oops, yes fly buys

        • 70000 points will be $140 coles voucher - but yes $140 coles $140 Cashrewards cashback and one month free is greatttttttt

        • @b0b0:

Actually unsure if you can claim both as ahm website mentions have to sign up online through ahm website.
          Also 70000 fly buys = $350 :)

        • @spa: just read the T&C. Yes 70000 is freaking $350 in voucher but there is a minimum 6 month commitment 🤦🏽‍♂️

        • @b0b0:

Ahh I see. I'll probably just try to prepay for 6 months anyway to lock in the cheaper rate of they allow it. My last insurer didn't.

  • Just signed up to Aus Unity - got the $100 cash back, plus $140 cashrewards, plus $150 gift card to match iSelect offer of $200 gift card. so that's $390 coming at me! Happy Easter everyone!

    • you need to talk to compare the market operator to ask them to match iSelect offer.

    • Wow you really got a decent deal here Wow. This is a free $290 coming at you

I have already purchased few days ago. Do you think I can still get back to Compare the Market to mention about this?

      • no harm in asking i guess?

        • Will do. I’m surprise 😲 they have 24/7 customer service

        • @b0b0: i'm getting the $100 card from Aus Unity too.. so that's $390!

        • +1

@thierry: Salute. Your bargain hunting skill is another level. Thanks for the advice!

    • I think the Aus Unity $100 cash back deal is gone now?
