  • Just wondering how these things have 12 month Samsung warranty left? Were they only purchased by the original owner 12 months ago?

    • yes they were originally purchased within the last 12 months

      • I see, thanks! So does that mean we get the original invoice as proof of original date of purchase?

        • we will issue a new invoice with your purchase date and 12 months warranty mentioned on it which is acceptable with samsung if a warranty repair arises down the rd

          @erroorfree:

According to the Samsung warranty policy it isn't and that purchasing these phones will have no warranty.

          IV. Warranty Transferability
          A. This warranty is provided only to you and is not transferable, however, subsequent owners may have statutory rights to a remedy if the Product is faulty.

So any claims for warranty will need to be made to Phonebot as statutory warranty.

        • @spaceflight:

Would the statutory warranty be two years with phonebot anyway?

        • @serpserpserp:

          The ACCC says

Statutory rights are not limited to a set time period. Instead, they apply for the amount of time that is reasonable to expect, given the cost and quality of the item.

        • @spaceflight:

Cost is medium, I would say the quality is high, so it should be two years!

  • @OP - any deals on s8 covers?

    • only alcantara for $19

  • Hey OP sent you a private message a few days ago, can you please respond?

  • S7 or new Xiaomi A1?

Thanks OP - one thing I'd mention is there is a possible weakness with the LED covers where the cable that goes to the LED display can break (see https://youtu.be/k6oDGM9PIFg?t=41). I'm not absolutely certain if it's over time as the case is opened and possibly flipped….. I will say that mine stopped working soon after I started using the credit card slot so not sure if that's a coincidence. It's still a good cover, and the screen still goes on/off automatically via the built in magnet, but I'd assume that the LEDs will die over time.

    • yah weve had a few complaints. im not sure if its the led lights or the cable connecting it.

      • Could be the lights, but the ribbon cable running from the back to the front (as seen in that youtube link) certainly looks like the obvious point of failure. They are used in, say, connecting laptop displays to the base, but with the 'phone case they will be being bent a lot more frequently and at sharper angles so would be more prone to failure. I'm also concerned that the card slot appears to go over where the ribbon joins the front so it's possible it may dig into the cable as well…..

      • Yeah i bought 2 phones off you last year in August with LED covers, and now both the covers have stopped working. Anything you can do?

        • Accessories only have a 6 month warranty so you would be out of warranty now

      • Yep, I was one of the people complaining, my s7 edge Led View case never worked from brand new. The phone did not even recognise it as a smart case. I wouldn't buy again, sadly, as I really love the case otherwise. It looks cool!

  • Yep the S7 LED view we bought died after about 3 months. No biggie…

    • Yeah - at this price it's a decent flip case with auto on/off with access to the volume buttons. If you bought it at the original RRP, you'd be justified being annoyed if/when the LEDs die.

  • The S7 edge LED cover that I got with S7 edge stopped working after 4 months and I was asked to contact Samsung instead of replacing it. It should be the retailers responsibility to replace the faulty product if its under warranty.

There is a reason why it is called Manufacturer's warranty.

    • Did you connect Samsung?

Accessories only have a 6 month warranty.

  • Are these preowned phones eligible for TRS refund?

    • Doesn't matter.. if it's over $300 and you have a tax invoice with ABN, you can claim

    • yesss

  • Is it upgradable to Android 8 , Oreo ?

Any deals on S7 edge covers?

    • out of stock on those sorry

  • Ooh, not bad. You could easily put LineageOS 15.1 on one of these and it'd be an amazing phone.

    • have u used it with lineage os?

      • Not on the s7 but this variant seems to be compatible with the current roms. I've run LineageOS on all my other phones and its miles better than Samsung experience.

  • is S7 Edge sold out?
there is no color option to choose from

    • yep s7 edge is sold out

      • were expecting stock this friday

  • Price at checkout for samsung s7 comes to $349 + $10 shipping (standard) = $359 shipped and not $339 shipped… did i miss something?
