Rep any deal on the RGB version?

    • +1

      hi,knobbs,

not right now.pls be waiting deal on the RGB version.

      thx.

      • maximum luminous flux of 450Lm

This is less than my smallest flashlight, even less than my phone's torch, No thanks

  • How do these different to the Yeelights?

    • This one is white only, where as the Yeelight is colour.

    • Yeelight white is 600lm, this one is 450lm from memory and smaller. Yeelight has native google home support, this one does not.

    • You can't use the yeelight app for them.
You can dim and change colour temperature, you can't change colour temp with the Yeelight White bulb.
It will work with everything else in the Xiaomi smart eco system just as the yeelight bulbs.

      Any other questions just ask.

      • Best lights for a bathroom and upstairs hallway?
Will be trying to integrate them into a hassio environment.

        • So far, I have all yeelights in my lounge, and these in the kitchen, bathroom & laundry area and have no problem with these, more than enough light. Also have a motion sensor which turns these lights on at 25% brightness at night.

        • @xev: thanks. Although what an awful website that is to navigate on mobile!

So this bulb doesn't need a bridge, just like LIFX?

    • +1

They don't need the Xiaomi Gateway to use, you can turn on/off etc with the app, but you will need one if you want to use them with Xiaomi switches, buttons and sensors

    wow this website is bad!

  • Be warned the app (Mi Home) is really bad, I had to give up and then use them as ordinary bulbs :(

    • +1

What's wrong with Mi Home? It's used by a lot of people I know without issue.

      • I got the Mi Home app and it doesn't detect the bulb. It also isn't even listed in the list of devices when I try to add manually. Been playing around with this thing for hours. Also tried one of the older updates and the bulb isn't listed in the device on that one neither.

Am I using the right app? Did they update it so it isn't supported anymore? How do I get this damn thing to work?

        • What region do you have the app set to?

        • @MorriJ:

To Australia (or other). Should it be a different one? I'll need to make a new account for that too right?

        • +2

@majestyofheroes: Yes, want to set it to locale China, it supports all the devices. Other regions only support a limited number of devices.

No need to create a new account, just change the locale in the main settings app and choose china. You will then need to log in again. When you choose chinese server, you will have to select password sign in (it defaults to wee chat login). Its at the bottom of the login screen.

Once you sign into chinese server, you will see a significantly larger amount of devices (all of them).

Edit: Worth doing a write-up but my phone storage is full and cant save screenshots on it. New one coming Tuesday, will think about doing a write up for Xiaomi home automation stuff. Using an orchestrator like HA obviously improves usability, but there arent too many simple guides regarding the mi kit out there.
