Not sure if I'm missing something here or it's a price error, but this seems like a very good deal.

  • This is just the RAM?

  • So it seems this is essentially equivalent to this Crucial module? http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/rs18017xs-/CT10101837

Edit: the following Crucial part is listed as compatible with RS3617RPxs http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/rs3617rpxs/CT10101418

Well, it is Not Quite Right RAM.

    So.. buy at own risk?

RRP $429 is a joke. if $429, Why not choose corsair?

But it should be price error

Someone can call and confirm it? Is it a Fools day joke?

    • +4

this is ECC memory which is usually used on server. Corsair is consumer level product. The price is totally different.

  • Anyone know much bout this ram? Thank you in advance.

  • Ordered first, ask later. They better honor the order, even if it is a pricing error.

Why should they? They are under no obligation to do so.

Curious how you found the website let alone that particular item.
Kickstart wouldn't see 500 hits a day too often..

    • Saw it on a staticice search for ddr4 ram. Unfortunately I'm not really in the market for ECC ram so it's not much use to me.

        Neither inspires confidence to purchase.

    • It's crazy. We live in upside down world where tighter spec ECC ram is half the price of normal ram.

      • chances are this wont work on many desktops at all being that its ecc

        • Depends on motherboard chipset I think.

@xdreamyst: As long as it's unbuffered ECC ram it should be fine. The issue is that it would be better to use ECC ram as it's meant to be used, but only some motherboards support it (ECC mode on). I have an old Asus Crosshair IV Formula board that runs ddr3 ECC ram and uses it properly. It's a worthwhile investment in a daily rig using ECC ram IMO.

          @xdreamyst:

If anyone has an interest in mining, HDD sharing/cloud sharing or running distributed computing projects, it would almost be silly to use non-ECC ram. I don't mine, but I do share HDD and run distributed computing projects for $.

  • Any suggestions for ram upgrade on the ds918?

    • I bought Crucial CT51264BF186DJ 4Gb DDR3 PC3-14900 from eBay seller new. $75 shipped
      Installed. Works perfectly, easy install

      • Sweet anyone tried going upto 16gb?

Difference in ram brands doesn't cause any issues When adding the crucial?
