UK Visa Using a Chinese Passport with an Australian Permanent Residence

I just rang the UK Consulate office Today, they weren't very helpful, sounded like to obtain a visa go directly and speak to the UK.

Other countries for my Wife as she has a Chinese passport with an PR for Australia such as Japan, US or Singapore, you just send the passport to Canberra with your passport etc.

UK not as easy, Consultant office makes it really hard in Australia, not so friendly and I was wondering if anyone who in my situation apply for a travel visa into the UK, the documents is like 6 pounds in cash to obtain just want to know if its going the right way before I decide to spend any more.

Looking to go to the UK for 2 Weeks around November/December period.

Thank you

    UK visa?
just apply/pay online and then attend the interview for document collection.

Not sure what the issue is. She's a Chinese national, so you would apply for a UK visa the same way any other Chinese national would?

  • It could be too early to apply for a visa. You can check out the process now but normally you only start the application about 3 months prior.

  • Thanks guys, I found out that my Wife would have to go to each Capital city via person but Darwin is not on the list, UK might not be on the cards but I was wondering if anyone knows places where you can obtain a E-Visa for my Wife situation, We like to see if Europe is an option, we had to fly to Brisbane to get an Italy visa but I like to know if I can get that similar visa without travelling, So far USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan are places without you needing to visit just post your passport in the mail and put a return envelope to get it back with a visa in the passport, its not a topic which I can google, I have to ring around, there a wiki page but its not all there as it more for Chinese people in China but there is some useful information on that page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_Chinese_…
