FYI these are very outdated, first posted in end of 2016 for $83.60 and the only times they hit the front page was when they were being offered for free as part of a Tasmanian university course. (I never received mine)

nowadays I would probably explore other options, Xiaomi miBand 2 or the Amazfit Huami Bip which are cheap.

    • I've been looking for something that tracks sleep accurately.
Been looking at Fitbit Charge 2 on Gumtree <$100.
Am I better off buying something else?
I've never used activity trackers before but assumed the better known brands work better?

I don't have much experience with fitness trackers but I've used the Pebble, Pebble Time and Samsung gear S2. They all only guess how much sleep you're getting based on movement, and so can't give you an accurate measurement, just a general idea.

I think that's how all activity trackers work in principle anyway.

Give the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 a go, does a lot of tracking and has a 20 day battery life, can pick one up from around $25

      • Fitbits are great at sleep tracking and can hold their charge for a week or so, so you won’t have to charge it overnight often when you want it to be tracking. I’ve got an Ionic and my wife has the Charge 2 and we’re happy.

Yeah, just had a quick read of some Amazfit Huami Bip reviews. One said that the sleep tracking isn't very good at it because it just uses the accelerometer instead of HRM.

I don't mind forking out a little more for a Fitbit, just want it to work.

Been great for free from UTAS😁

    Wow Fitbit is over priced.

  • It tracks swimming. The other bands mentioned in the comments doesn't do that. If that helps someone making a choice to get this or not.

  • I have my phone in my pocket during almost any other moment, so I only use mine at the gym. Bought it ages ago and does what I want.
