Puppy Barking When Left Alone

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I recently got a new puppy, an 11 week old Kelpie x Koolie.
We brought him home on Monday and it is currently Thursday (of the same week) and he is constanty barking when left alone or it is time for bed.
We have had him locked up in the laundry at night and also when we have to go out for work (which is about a maximum of 3 hours alone time) and have had him in the backyard pen today while my girlfriend has been doing things inside. We find that once he is left alone he will constantly bark.

I am wondering if this is normal and if so what we can do to combat this?

Regards
Josh

    lmao first world problems

  • Kudos for being aware of the issue & trying to solve it.

  • Speaking of dogs, this is kind of off topic, but why do people buy 2 of the exact same breed? I never understood that. I mean, I can understand getting 2 dogs of different breeds, for variety sake, but 2 identical breeds?? Would you get 2 of the same exact model car? Unlike some other animals, dogs don't need another dog for company, they are fine with just a human pack.

  • It's good you're even trying, I live in an area with a lot of these and frankly, I want to beat the dog and the owners senseless with a stick.

A dog barking for 4 hours solid, IS torture, it's god damned torture.

    Solve it, somehow.
