Hisense 65" N6 4K Ultra HD LED LCD Smart TV $1295 @ Harvey Norman plus Purchase any Hisense TV and receive 10% back in Harvey Norman Gift Cards

Been keeping an eye on TVs 60 inch or more and under $1500 and without even considering gift cards back promo I think it is the cheapest I've seen at one of the big retailers. May have been cheaper during Ebay sales but + postage etc.

I do believe the N7 despite being more expensive by >$200 would be a more worthy buy simply due to the refresh rate difference of 60hz vs 100hz

However this is still a great deal if that doesn't bother you, but in action movies / play in games the difference is there

Agree. So many N7 deals floating around you'd be mad to go the earlier model.

The N6 isn't an earlier model, it's just a step down in their range. I would say your average family who doesn't know much about tech would not benefit greatly buying the N7 over the N6.

I believe the main differences are refresh rate, and the N6 panel is 8bit (vs 10-bit on the N7, or at least that is what I read). The average consumer will probably watch FTA, and a bit of Netflix. I doubt they'll ever buy a UHD Blu-Ray. I once viewed the N6 and N7 next to each other playing FTA (yes, some retailers actually do this) and they looked identical. I'm sure if it was playing HDR 4K content, the difference probably would have been more noticeable.

^ This, and im currently in the market for a 58" or larger TV to go outside… and the amount of times it'll be used (and most likely only for FTA) I don't think it'll warrant an extra $200 for faster refresh rates.

        • To add to this, the N7 is not real HDR in the sense that it cannot produce high enough brightness and also I am not too sure about 10-bit panel either I think they get the extra 2 bit by colour dithering…

What I did notice was that N7 models were alarmingly HOT to the touch across the bottom of the TV, hottest point being the right hand corner when looking at the TV from front. This was apparent in all sizes of N7 series, the N6 does not have this issue nor any other TV that I saw.
I don't know about the long term side effect but if it goes in a small room it is enough to heat up the room…

  • Have the 43" N6 as my pc gaming monitor. Love the hell out of it. Though yes if you could get the N7 for the 100hz then that would be better.

    • Hows the input lag on the 43n6?

I know it's a TV and it's not going to be as good as a monitor. But is it decent enough?

      • Not noticed any issues myself with any of the games I play. Am sure though more discerning people would find something wrong with it.

  • The 65N7 can be bought for $1352 at the moment from VideoPro via eBay, as others have pointed out it's probably worth spending the little bit extra

I have a $1300 barrier for the 65N7. The 55in Panasonic i have I've had for 7 years and works great with chromecast so I don't NEEED a new TV but everyone has a price……mine is $1300

    • Maybe next year you will get one..

      • New models are coming out soon apparently. the guy at HN said they wont be discounting them as they sell so well already. just sell till they're gone

        Me = :(
        Bank account = :)

  • You'd be silly not to spend the extra and get the N7

  • I'm in market for 65" TV. Don't know much about the specs.
Can some one please suggest how is this model? Or N7?
Is Hisense good brand to buy or you recommend going to big brands like LG / Samsung / Sony?

    • +1

Hisense N7 is very good brand to buy.
