I saw Free Ice Cream Flinders St Station and was going to complain that Adelaide always misses out on these giveaways.

    Then I saw;

    It's ice cream with bugs.

And that's OK, you can keep it.

    Enjoy!

These guys were in the mall last week actually. I skipped it, not so much of the bugs, but more because they looked like they were really going to push to sell me something lol

      • That something is their economist magazine.

        • Yes I can see now as per OP’s deal. I was just doing a quick walk by and not familiar with the magazine.

      profile photo checks out

  • They all have insects in the actual food. (there's a mealworm, a grasshopper and 2 others I can't remember)

Of course, I lost my appetite on my morning commute completely.

Call me a traditionalist or out of touch.

But I feel that bugs should only be eaten on a dare whilst traveling in an Asian country.

    • Call me traditional but I wouldn't eat bugs with ice cream, it's like putting protein like chicken in your ice cream!

People like chocolate bunnies. So i bought a bunny and skinned it. Cooked it and chilled it. Coated with chocolate and donated to church titled Chocolate bunny. I think they enjoy sweet sweet protein?

  • Only four more years to go before soylent green flavoured ice cream is available

Why the hell did they ruin good bugs by putting them with icecream?

    • do it for the 'gram!

I don't know what's so special about this. My local takeaway has been offering roaches noodle and fly sandwich for ages

    • Kinda reminds me of that poor bugger who swallowed a slug on a dare and ended up in a coma for a year with rat encephalitis. Is now in a wheelchair for life.

  • They are at Martin Place in Sydney today also.

  • Tried them like 6 months ago, weird texture and some you dont even know there are bugs!
Wouldnt do it again purely for the "ewww" factor hahaha

  • They were doing something similar at a raceday for 'healthy' kids meals. As well as Fish that looked like fries and Fries that looked like fish. WTF. Just serve good wholesome food. Stop getting fancy.

  • Had this a year or two ago when The Economist were doing bug waffles at Southern Cross, MEL. The cricket was really crunchy, can't remember what the other bug was (maybe just a worm?) but it went down easier.
