AliExpress Still Full of Dishonest Scammy Sellers?

I used Aliexpress many years ago when it was less well known and always had issues with sellers marking an item as sent with a fake tracking number and then contacting me admitting they do not have the item. Sure, simple mistake except when the item is marked as out of stock there is nolonger the option to cancel the sale.

Years later, I decide to give the site another go. Lots of people seem to use it now. Immediately I am contacted by the seller to say the item is out of stock, and asking me if I want another design which I didnt. I went to cancel the order and notice a fake tracking number has already been applied, hours after the purcahse was made. Its extra annoying as I used a sitewide coupon to buy multiple items. I now have to wait atleast 10 days to open a dispute, before I can buy from another seller. I probably will not get the coupon back that I used and its an item that doesnt have many listings and selling out fast.
Its just time wasting. I go on the facebook group to see multiple complaints about the same thing. I think there is some kind of reimbursement sellers can get if an item does not arrive. (its not been sent}. Then I see reports that sellers do this because to avoid a bad mark for not having the item in stock.

I now have little confidence with the site and really thought it would have improved.

Its just annoying and time wasting and I am surprised its still happening!

no issues, 95% of the time i get my stuff.
takes a long time sometimes upto 50 days.

  • I would rather the seller just be honest and let me agree to cancel it because I nolonger want the item. apparently they ask buyers to do that to avoid the bad mark. I guess its better for them to blame the post rather than their fault of not having an item, which would have been fine. Im only annoyed as I wanted to use my coupon and need the item fast so 10 days will be too long. Added loads of stuff to the cart just so the coupon was in the limit of and they are all in stock!

  • I've brought plenty from AliExpress and never had anything like this ever happen.

I've recently had a issue with aliexpress, over a very misleading item. Put a dispute in and aliexpress sided with the seller. complained and they said too bad. Basically this seller had pictures of another product and working to say they are selling that as such, but one product the real product being sold. So it was 'ok'.

Based on this recent event, aliexpress can go to hell and buy some anywhere else first.

It is a hit and miss. 90% of my orders went well. The only one time that I had issue was with the official Anker store. I bought an item on sale (50% off). Seller put in a tracking number and one month later it still wasn't dispatched from China. I communicated with the seller and they say they ran out of stock but it was still selling on the website. Second time I communicated, seller asked me to repurchase the order at full price as they cannot amend the order. I wrote in to Aliexpress HQ to complain and within a few days, the seller told me they put in a new order for me at $0.01. Total time wastage was 2.5 months.

The only problem I have is AusPost stealing my parcels.

(Scanned into local post office and then 'lost'…)

    • Parcel locker…

      • They were.

        "Lockers are full…"
        "Transferred to PO…"
        "We can't find it…"

Customer support: "Sucks to be you, case closed."

I just put my first order in with Aliexpress. The fellow contacted me the same day to say he would be putting $20 value for custom purposes, and I got a shipping notice two days later (on the Monday). So far, so good. Hopefully in two weeks my bistro will be rocking a buzzer queue system.

I have bought two different items from two different sellers in january and no problems at all, very low shipping, good tracking, arrived in time and in perfect order.

  • So, the dispute process succeeded and I got a refund of the cash I used, but I totally lost the coupon I had been given by Aliexpress. I am disappointed because in the past if anything went wrong with the sale, Ebay have given me a new coupon to use so I don't see why they couldn't give me a coupon on Aliexpress. Almost seems like theres something going on to try and limit coupon use. There is no way to complain about the sellers fraudulent claims of sending the item, and nowhere to complain about losing the coupon so I feel apprehensive to use the site again. Would be awful if it involved lots of money.
