Has Anyone Got Experience with Huawei Honor Cube Dual Band Router?

I am browsing through JoyBuy and found this router: https://www.joybuy.com/3121795.html

It looks cheap and good but couldn't find much review about it. Anyone uses one and would like to share their experiences? Thanks.

  • There doesn't seem to be any technical details about the device at all, yet you say:

    It looks cheap and good

I agree that it's cheap, but what's your criteria for "good"?

    • Well from what they claimed in the description … but I know that's not technical and I won't understand even if there are technical info about the hardware anyway … hence I asked.

Smartbeamforming technology for better signal, ability to connect to a second router, USB port … :-)

  • This seems to be the Huawei WS831 from some searching. There are some specs but not many reviews. I got bored after reading a bit. Maybe you can tell us how it went if you buy it. Good luck.

    • I currently uses Xiaomi router … don't want to buy unless there is high confidence that this one is better.

      • In what way are you wanting it to be better?

        • I have tried few different router but all of them are under $150 models. I have tried ASUS, DLINK, TP-LINK, Billion, Cisco and none of them could give me a coverage around the house (1 storey). Xiaomi doesn't give me full coverage either but has slightly better range and I have a second Xiaomi router that I use a repeater to give full coverage around the house. But lately, now and then some devices have difficulties connecting to the Wifi which usually requires me to reset both routers and all back to normal. It's just a little inconvenience … so if there is a good budget router. I am not willing to invest on expensive routers because I have got a loan professional grade Cisco AP and it still doesn't give me full coverage .. so I think there is something in the house structure that prevents that.

I have tried EoP and it was good until for some reason they stopped working, bought a new pair of EoP and for some reasons I couldn't get them connect. That's when I switched to a pair of Xiaomi routers which give me slightly better speed compared to EoP (in my case).
