      Inappropriate, given it's clearly NOT a duplicate…

  • Interesting that religious stuff gets so much upvotes every time. Wonder what is so great about this one.

I am agnostic but I do read religious stuff. I generally find abrahamic religions to be pretty shallow. Christianity explains some concepts in a very simple way for the masses to understand but at the end of the day it is no different(gives people some sort of false sense of security like all religions). The up voters should perhaps venture more in to wider reading and deeper concepts focusing on spirituality rather.

"Christianity explains some concepts in a very simple way for the masses to understand"

          Oh come on.

"but unlike them, I'm too smart for that stuff"

        • @LuthLexor: Push your boundaries;-)

        • @negger: Oh I definitely do. Believe me, I do. I just don't share your conclusions.

Either way, let's not get into a discussion here. PM me if you feel the need to continue this (very interesting!) discussion.

        • It's only a "false sense of security" if it's not true. What sense of security do non-believers have? Just interested to know…

        • @papachris: Good to see that some 'Believers' are curious and seek the truth. You are on the right path :-)

        • @negger: I presume then the answer to my question was "none"…

The problem is your assumption that Australia is not very religious anymore. Secularism is on the rise, for sure, but there's stacks of very active churches, mosques and other religious communities. You just don't hear about it because the media is largely left-wing, anti-religious or at least agnostic. Even if 20% of Australians were still engaged in some religious community, that's still 5 million people

Why do you think there's so many Bible flicks out at the moment?
