  • I was a bit shock when I saw the 21A, turn out to be 2.1 A

    • Copied the description from MSY. Apparently, it is wrong.

Charged my phone in 3.8 minutess and cooked my toast on the back of it at the same time.
      Completely saved my morning!

  • The last time I bought a powerboard with USB (not this one, Crest brand) I was kept up all night by the whining-noise from the powerboard. Presumably it was the USB-component.

    • +4

With 21A running through it, im not surprised!

    • This happened to me, and with this particular board. (And most other USB power boards I've bought).

  • +1

How do these compare to the Xiaomi Mi Power Strips?

    • +6

Xiaomi power strip I'm pretty sure aren't au compliant

      • +7

        Please don't start this again

        • +5

Your a goose, just stating a fact.

Not dissing the power strip I'm using 3 in my house atm

        • -3

          @bti_jet:
          *You're.

    • +1

Xiaomi Mi Power Strips are heaps better! They take AU/CN/US/EU plugs, solid build quality and 3 USB ports.

    • +1

the xiaomi ones accept other types of plugs, except for UK ones.

    • +1

Can't see any teardowns of the Huntkey (I spent 1 second searching on your behalf), so it's impossible to say.

Other than the obvious: Xiaomi has 3 mains & 3 USB sockets, this has 4 mains & 2 USB sockets.
Presumably Huntkey also uses insulated pins on the plug.

      • +1

To my knowledge and former reading details re-Xiaomi power boards

( using two at the moment ) it does not include Surge Protection ( would love to wrong on this though lol ).

    • +1

my xiaomi strips's usb charing is very slow, not matching the specs I will says, But my another Huntkey works fine.

    • After owning heaps of different brands I love my Xiaomi ones. Universal plugs with usb and Au Plug.
Bought about 6 of them and not one has issues.
Would defo buy those over these

      • Is there any good deal for xiaomi strip going on?

  • Does anyone know if the switch up the top is master switch or if it only resets the circuit breaker?

I'm looking for a power board with a master switch and this is a little cheaper than what I found at Office Works.

    • +3

The ones at Woolworths sometimes go on half price sale.

But "double break safety switch" implies it is a master on/off.

      Fake edit: yeah https://en.huntkey.com/product/sac404/

      • Thanks, yeah it's a lot easier to see in the photos from that link that it's a master switch.

    • +1

I own 6 of these boards around the house. Definitely a master switch. I use one of them to turn my studio monitors and subwoofer on and off as silly things don't have power switches on the front(s).

  • thanks, op!

    • $12.83 shipping? I don't think so.
  • Don't like the shipping fee.
Came to their N. Melb store and they said limit 2 per customer. I said but no limit online and the guy said I would have to pay for shipping!
    So, I got 2.

    • +3

Leave the store, come back and buy 2 more?

  • Pulled the trigger on 2 of these.

Keep F**king missing powerboard deals on OzB, so I'm happy to get in on one for once!

  • Just to clarify, the 2.1 A is shared between the usb ports somwhen charging two devices Ill only get half of 2.1 for each device?

    • +1

      shared

    • +1

Definitely shared between both. My tablet doesn't even have enough amps to gain charge when my phone is also connected.

    • +1

yes. max 10W in total so 5W each port if using both.

  • +1

Target one may be better? Although it is $15, 3.8A and you can buy it easier.

    • Post it as a separate deal, I'd upvote it.

  • Showing as $19 for me

    • +1

      Expired.

      • Thanks they didn't have any at my local Adelaide CBD yesterday anyway.. good deal for those that got it :)
