$511.10 w/ OW price beat as they have it for $599. If you don't mind grey stock, then it will be $423 (Glossy blue) or $419.40 (Copper) in tomorrows sitewide eBay sale

  • How does this phone compare to pixel 2 in terms of speed and camera?

    • Same speed, but a camera that's a lot worse. That being said the camera is good enough for daily use and for nearly half the price of the pixel 2, you get what you pay for.

I own a Nokia 8 and I'm happy with it. It's mainly a software issue which makes the Nokia camera shoot "poor" images so there are work-arounds for improved quality today. Check out the XDA forums. Nokia is aware of the software issue too and they have stated that they will push out an improvement someday.

The phone still does not have an unlocked bootloader, however Nokia is pushing it out… very slowly… with Nokia 6 being the recent.
In terms of speed, I have no complaints. Haven't encountered any stutter or lag.

      Edit.
I purchased from JB HiFi since they offered a 2 year warranty and if something goes wrong, it's easy because they are everywhere.

      • You won't want to hear about my nightmare experience with JB HiFi for phone warranty then.

First replacement under the 90 no lemon guarantee was very easy. Second replacement a few months later involved a 5 week wait with no progress at LG repairer, then when I insisted it was unreasonable to make me continue to wait with no ETA on the repair, JB HiFi cancelling my phone contract without my permission. A real mess to sort that out. Ended up on a better contract in the long run but wasn't worth the many hours I spent on that nightmare.

  • So torn between this, ZenFone 5, ZenFone max Pro, Nokia 7 plus…

Or just cheaping out with HTC 10, or zenfone 3 deluxe.

Can someone make life's hard decisions for me please?

Best value is probably that Telstra pixel 2 xl deal…

I suggest you make a table outlining the pros and cons of each device and choosing the one with the most pros and least cons. Price should be a major factor to consider, unless you've got the cash to spare.

      • You sound clever. What phone do you have? I'll just copy you…

        • Haha. Thanks.
          It's a HTC U11+, the top-tier variant.

Ooh nice - you're rich, wanna marry? :)

        • @ozbjunkie: Haha. I'm flattered.
At the time I got it, it cost as much as a local Sammy S8+. The beefier specs and battery were the reasons I got it.

  • Good price but AUS version does NOT support dual SIM so please be aware.
