    Yes finally!!
Might buy a new 1440p monitor!!

As long as it's not more than $1k

      • +7

If I could buy one for more than 1k I would be dreaming…

      • You can spend more, the discount would just be capped to the $100 ( 10% of $1K ) anything over $1K you pay full price.

    • Which one do you reckon is the cheapest with the best value? I've been looking at the ViewSonic VA2719-2K for $299+15 delivery, and the Lenovo L27q for $373

      • Where did you find stock for the ViewSonic?
I'll take a look at both and get back to you

      • Viewsonic is available from PLE for $309 inc delivery It was my choice of local monitor, but I ended up taking a punt on a Korean one.

      • +1

I got the ViewSonic from MSY. Solid performance so far. Lenovo L27Q has no VESA mount, could be a deal breaker for some.

        • No Freesync either. I have one, it's a nice panel but the lack of height adjustable stand means that phone books now relivant again. I like that it uses the standard Lenovo square tipped power brick, so if the screen dies out of warranty, I'll have a spare brick for my laptop (or vice versa).

On a negative note, for some reason having the L27Q monitor connected to my PC via display port causes the PC PSU to trip as if it detects a short circuit. But disconnecting the cable, letting it POST and then reconnecting is fine.

Time for Officeworks to close their ebay store tomorrow

    • I legitimately need something from Officeworks. Does anyone know if I can purchase now and pay tomorrow?

      • If they remove the item tomorrow you won’t be able to purchase it, so no point purchasing now.

      • +2

Last site wide sale I was able to purchase within the first minute of the code being active as I had it prepared in my cart already (It is actually the second time I have done it with them).

At least doing it this way (having it ready in your cart) you are not obliged to continue with the purchase if they restrict themselves from the sale.

        • +3

As predicted..the store is not processing orders. I used your tip and successfully put my order in within the first half hour of the coupon being active.

        • @pyr0maniac:
i did this too, but just before i made the payment, Officeworks decided to go "on holiday" and i could not complete the transaction.

now, they have closed their eBay store too and i cannot get what i was after.

    • what they have on sale? or clearance?

    • +2

its ridiculous they do that, amount sales they lose for a discount they dont pay for

      • +9

Someone has obviously run the numbers and decided either they don’t lose enough (eg they would just be diverting traffic away from their site and stores that customers would buy anyway and train their customers to wait on purchases and shop only on eBay during sales periods - making them more dependent on eBay) and / or b) it’s not aligned with their everyday low prices strategy (eg they don’t do sales, they have price beat every day of the week).
I agree it’s frustrating, but I kinda respect their positioning if that’s the reason they pull down the store.

        • -2

Their price beat ain't worth shut. They hide stock if they don't like the price otherwise they update national pricing immediately. Nearly no customers can benefit this way.. it's a con

I've got no respect for OW anymore

        • +3

@justtoreply: Seriously mate… who hides the stock? Little blue men that jump out of the aisles when they smell competition in the air? Or the guy or girl on a tiny wage that works for the giant Wesfarmers? Why would they give two hoots? Could it just be that the store could be low on stock, or fellow Ozbargainers have raided OW to take them up on their price beat offer?

And honestly, how can you have no respect for them updating their national price immediately? That's them honouring their commitment lowest prices?! I'm no OW fanboy, but if they have the lowest price or they give you 5% off when they don't, surely that's worth shopping with them for that reason (i.e. you've guaranteed to always get the lowest price!).

Sure you may not always get 5% off another retailers price if OW has a lower price, but they never promised that - and didn't they just give you the LOWEST PRICE? Perhaps you'd be happier if they just jacked their prices 5% (like half the eBay sellers) so you could feel like you're getting a 5% win?
"Nearly no customers can benefit this way"…. honestly I'm lost for words….

        • -1

          @Saywhaaaaat:

Sigh. Just because you haven't seen them hide stock you must be correct? Seen it with my own eyes, hdds at Osborne Park WA, so get stuffed.

Its not about lowest price, it's about price BEAT. 5% to ONE person? The item should be bought at the store willing to offer the low price to begin with. This is an anti competitive diversion in the long run

        • -1

@justtoreply: You’ve just proved my point.
“Its not about lowest price, it’s about price BEAT.”
Price beat is all about lowest price! If you have the lowest price that is price BEATEN!
Clearly you’re just after a discount and the ‘feel’ of a win, not the lowest price or bargain. That’s fine, each to their own, just don’t take it out on OW for offering the lowest prices compared to their competition. Stick to shopping on eBay :-)

        • -1

          @Saywhaaaaat:

          No.

Lowest price can be (usually is) EQUAL lowest
Price beat is ABSOLUTE lowest (by 5%, as advertised)

          KEY difference.

Once they change their price, they are no longer absolute lowest (due to needing to beat it by 5%), they are equal lowest. It's only that first person that gets absolute lowest. They have a whole campaign based around this ONE person that gets it 5% cheaper. I see that as misleading because i think the campaign implies that MANY people benefit from the policy.

If they just had a campaign "we check prices and price match" that would be accurate for 99.99% of their customer base - I'd get behind them for it because it actually is what they say it is.

I've demonstrated i caught them hiding stock. I've proven your definitions wrong. That's enough justification, I'm done replying to you. And your eBay comment, despite adding a smiley face, is still an insult.

    • Have they done this before? lmao

    • Why would they? Officeworks aren't absorbing that 10% discount, it's ebay. Officeworks gets just as much income from something sold on a 10% off sale or if they sell at a normal price.

      • +1

They say they don’t want to offer different prices to their store.

    • +9

Officeworks are "Taking care of business…"

      • If you buy the item from OW, do you have to pay immediately? If not, yoou could buy in advance wait for 10% off code, then pay for it?

        • +1

That doesn't generally work on eBay. You usually pay when you purchase. Very rarely do sellers allow you to pay later, usually only when postage needs to be calculated so they can give you a revised invoice.

BUT the code definitely won't work afterwards. Wait before you buy.

        • +1

I think that only works for auctions. Generally fixed priced items require immediate payment in my experience. With sitewide discounts they usually dont do funny stuff with the prices, but if they do, just buy elsewhere if the item is available.

  • Does it look like their will be any good PS4 pro deals? Don't know wether to bite the bullet on the big W bundle at the moment or keep waiting.

    Sweet. QC35s, please!

    • I've waited so long. Tomorrow is the day for them.

Edit: Seems like $415 is lowest price. Sigh.

      • Oh really? Yeah not cool. I'll be taking them overseas so can claim the tax, but still, that's a bit too much.

  • Did I read somewhere Allphones and Mobileciti were related, or was that somewhere different?

Anyway, a 10% discount with free shipping works out cheaper than the 20% PICKYOURS code from Tuesday!

    • +2

Mobileciti purchased Allphones name/website when they went into administration.

Got excited until saw the $100 max discount… The wait continues :)

  • It's about time!

  • This is awesome. I can finally grab an Xbox One X tomorrow. Just missed out last time.

  • +3

I had items I Wanted to buy and waited 2 weeks for a 10% code, didn't get one, so I bought it yesterday using PULL5. So of course a new 10% code is going to come out tomorrow. It always comes just after I get fed up waiting and just buy without it.

You guys should thank me. I made it happen.

    • cancel and re-buy ?

      • item is on the way…

        • -4

ahh.. you can always try to return for a refund and place a new order.

as long as you paid with paypal, you have free returns

        • +8

          @spk:

Bit of a dick move if purchased from a small seller. Plus they lose 30c non refunded money to PayPal :p

    • d'oh same! Bought something around $250 with PULL5 thinking another discount might be a while …

correct, you should search for Samsung Galaxy S9

        • You have to see with your own 'retinas' to believe it.

      • Wife doesn't believe in Android…..
        And I don't believe in apple…

  • Dammit!
I gave up waiting today and bought $35 of my $55 cart that has been slowly building for the past 6 weeks!

    • +3

      Did you at least PULL5

    • That's not a big deal. The difference between 5% and 10% is $1.75. Or $3.50 if you didn't use PULL5.

I spent over $200 yesterday, thinking there won't be a 10% off deal in a while.

      • +1

It's the principle, not the money!
I've been building that cart for ages, waiting for the next code. I wouldn't even be annoyed if I bought last week cause the benefit of getting stuff when I need it is worth the extra, but I cwould happily have waited another 12 hours!

        • Yes true. I have nothing left to buy tomorrow, unless Officeworks decides to stay at work and not be OfficeHolidays.

  • -3

This is more like 5% off for me bcos most of the items I'm after are priced in US$ and the A$ has tanked in the past week.
    https://goo.gl/UcbvBT

@Philip Lowe increase interest rates already, biach.

Jeez there's just no pleasing some people ;P

  • +1

Does anyone have a search link for the list of participating sellers?

    I kid!

  • Oh yeah!

  • Was considering an iPhone 8 from Officeworks eBay a few days back and this 10% off coupled with TRS was going to tempt me, however I notice there are no iPhones full stop on their eBay store now. I know some mobs pull things for these sales, however I didn't think Officeworks would adopt these tactics…. Is this normal for them?

    • +3

Um yes. They pull all their stuff usually.

    • +2

Yes, it is. OW can suck a fat one.

  • -3

No Computer alliance, no de… oh.

  • great

  • -1

Was going to buy something today, used PULL5, then it tells me there's a 10% off, I clicked on it but it couldn't be stacked with PULL5. Anyways, I got 10% off my purchase. No idea what it was

  • What's the best place for me to get an iPhone X that issues a tax invoice for TRS? Thanks fam

  • I am planning to get a gtx 1050 ti of 4gb card with this discount. But there are so many companies with this model around the same price of $270 approx. which one to buy asus, gigabyte, Galax, msi, etc..I am still new to this type of things. Thanks if someone can suggest.

    • People have their preferences, but all the big brands are fine really. Just grab the best deal.

    • I find Asus cards have the most quietest fans.

  • Over 300 up votes for a $100 max discount.
    Damn, people need to chill.

    • I’m a bit confused too it’s 10%??

    • +5

Not everyone is spending over $1000.

      • Why bother, then?? If you're going to spend money, do it right.

        • -1

Why bother doing it at 10% when you can wait for the 20% discount?

    • +2

10% off is still 10% off. It's a good deal if you were planning to buy something…

  • Does this work for stuff purchased from overseas on ebay.com.au? Can't seem to find anything referring to that in the T&C's
