Kogan 80W 5 Port USB Charger (QC 3.0 & Type-C PD) - $49 Shipped @ Kogan

190

USB hub charger that can charge your laptop over USB Type-C PD port. I bought one last time and confirmed it works with my Lenovo X1 Carbon.

Great for travel as it means one less charger to bring.

Price is down from usual $79.

Price shows up as $49 for me. Is the $39 after $10 credit?

    • Same here

      • Sorry yes I forgot to add that bit!

  • Showing $49 which it has been in the past. Great deal none the less - great for travelling, compact for a laptop bag and great for Quick charging my Phone and Xiaomi Air 13.3

I've been tossing up buying the Tronsmart U5TF for a while now but this beats it by far.

    • I believe tronsmart is much better than Kogan branded items

      • Yeah but the TS doesn't have PD and it's a bit bulkier. In saying that, it does do up to 90W vs the Kogan's 80W.

Yes this actually has PD which will charge a big device like a laptop

Specs on this device are a little vague but the usb-C output is max 60w while it will charge a Macbook pro, it might not keep up if you are using the mac at the same time.

    • I have been using this with my MBP13 since before Easter, and it is still ok until now. The only thing that they can improve is to have one none-quick-charge port

      • +1

        one none-quick-charge port

        ?

        • All of the 5 ports on that charger support quick charge. But most of the time I want just normal charging, to extend battery life

        • @Averell: Oh. It looks like the C port doesn't have QC.

Yeah theres a few of them on Amazon US that look like rebadges that go for around $45-50 USD with decent reviews.

      • I found one at Amazon US. Assuming they're come from the same OEM, the reviews seem a bit polarized, either 5 stars or 1 and 2 stars.

        • Yeah thats the one I was thinking of, theres also a white one with more reviews to go over for those interested.

        • This one is the same and much cheaper https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071GQVFWT/

I bought the smaller and cheaper unit, same brand as it's sufficient for me when travelling https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0721XZH61/

        • I found one(amazon.com) at Amazon US.

That one comes with interchangeable tips. Don't think the kogan one is the same.

        • @CVonC:

On a related note does anybody know where you can get those laptop charging tips + usb adapter cable?

          Quote from seller:

it can also charge other none-USB-C laptops via a special USB converted cable. Please refer to image 6 of laptop compatible list and 12 different adapters included.

        • @CVonC: You mean the USB-C to tip cable they don't seem to supply, even though they give you the tips?

        • @CVonC: Yes Kogan does not come with the tips, just a USB C to C cable

        • @McFly:

you mean the USB-C to tip cable they don't seem to supply, even though they give you the tips?

          don't they?

          USB-C to USBU-C cable 100cm
          USB DC output cable 100cm
          12pcs laptop adapter tips

          isn't it the 2nd one?

        • @CVonC: Yes, you're correct - I looked through the page and didn't see it!
How does it push out enough power from a USB-A port - without QC - to a laptop?

  • Thanks Op, I just got $10 come back we miss you credit the other day.

    I assume this'll fast charge a Pixel 2.

    • I believe so, I have a Pixel 2 XL which charges at either 5V/3A or 9V/2A. The 9V charging displays on screen as "Charging Rapidly". I don't use this exact adapter but according to the specs you should be fine.

    • word of warning: using this with an apple usb-c cable fried my nexus 5x. fortunately other cables have been fine with other phones, macbook pro and xps13

  • So this is a cheaper but equivalent version of the OneAdaptr EVRI?

  • Wish I had this when I was travelling around the world last year.

    Still, would prefer the reverse - 4 C and 1 A ports.

Althought, who could go past a charger with "1 x Cooling Rack Stand Set"?

  • Anyone tested if this can charge an XPS 15? Even if not at full speed
