    IS this like non-explosive thermomix?

  • +1

Weird, looks like they halved the price again.. it was $600 ish yesterday at half price. I noticed that harvey norman has it for 50% off, I wonder if that has something to do with it.

    • It definitely seems way to cheap …

      • but it's sold by Amazon Au, so should be safe to buy.

      • Shame I don't really need one, would be a steal at this price. I bought the Tefal cook4me the other day though.

        • Also got the Tefal Cook 4 me, hardly use it… would this be better lol.

        • @R3XNebular:

Honestly if you don't find yourself using the functions of the cook4me which is a basic and easy to use product, i'd think you're probably less likely to use one like this that has a lot more to it. Just my opinion though. This does the chopping/browning/mixing for you all in one as well as a bunch of other functions. I would look at the reasons for you not using the cook4me though tbh before you make a decision. Plus it's not super cheap any more..

Bought! Mothers day pressie sorted. Cheers

    Nice first post

      • Yes they told me if it’s cheaper after I get it home they will give me back the diff
But they recon I won’t be back lol

        • +9

Let us know how you go, given that it's no longer available on amazon.

        • Any updates?

        • @GregFiona:
Knowing HN, they laughed in his face.

        • +1

Hi I got refunded $324 as it was cheaper so hn price I. The end was $324 she wasn’t happy but she had no choice as it was advertised 649 -50% happy days

        • @Dex38313: Can you please upload the receipt? Thank you

        • +1

they just refunded the diff wouldn’t give new reciept the lady was very funn I only got diff refunded when I mentioned head office

        • @Dex38313: So, you mean that you basically went back to HN and the funny lady opened the register and gave you $324, right?
          I haven’t heard this one before :)

        • +1

          @GregFiona: he is professional

        • she verified that amazon was down to $549 then you got 50% off so buy price was $324
I was credited the difference to my account as it was cheaper after I got it at harveynorman you have 30 days after u buy to claim the difference if it goes cheeper

        • mine also came with a free spare bowel worth $228 because of promotion at Harvey Norman so for $324 with free bowel happy with that

        • @Dex38313: Was the bowl by redemption or free instore?

        • @Dex38313: I'm looking for a free spare bowel… anybody?

        • the spare bowl came with the unit no redemption if u got from hn

    Thanks OP bought 3.

  • Thanks Op, got one

  • Why I can’t get free delivery even I select free delivery?

    • +2

you can - it deducts the shipping fee by adding to the discount. The total cost is less with free shipping selected (by 5 bucks)

  • Thanks! got 1. awesome deal.

  • do they provide tax invoice for TRS purposes?

    • +7

      are you taking this OS?

  • I bought one an hour ago - was going to post this in the morning - oh well, beaten to it

    • I assumed it was price error so didn’t bother

  • -8

This was the price for last few days

    • I think it was $649.50 after discount yesterday.

    • When the mothers day sale began it came down to $650 or so, they've halved the price again, not sure when they halved it though.

    • At some point last week it was $1300 and the 50% off brought it to $649
There was a post about it - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/374343

    • I Bought one earlier during the day at same price

      • so it was that price earlier that day - not "the last few days"?

        • Yeah I bought it of the last post.been eyeing it for few days

Can tell you pricehipster price drop wasnt picked up for while, which I am assuming is the source of this post

        • @777: the last post had this at $650. This post has it for $325

        • @flashi007: my point is I still bought it for $330 delivered regardless of this deal
But still upvoting for a reason

        • @777: great news!

  • Thanks Op got one, by the way for me Amazon20 also worked though I had already claimed it earlier! SO try and see if that works for you as well

    • Amazon20 didn't work for me. You're lucky :-)

  • Bought one, thanks OP!

  • just bought a thermomix today, do i really need 2?

    • +4

yes you need 2, so you can cook one batch for normal diet and another for gluten free, or you might need to use one for vegetarian and another for vegan …. if you had 3 you could cook a meat dish, a vegetarian dish and a vegan dish for dinner guests.

  • Thanks OP. mothers day settled!

  • Damn… Just missed out

    • Me too - expired just as I was changing to the free shipping option.

      Bugger!

  • Harvey’s has dropped to $649.50 on web sight limit 1 per customer to match amazon but tooo slow he will have to drop to $325

  • Missed out :(

  • Just missed out as well :(

  • +1

    Ozbargained!

    • +4

We will see. I am expecting an email from Amazon on Monday morning with some bad news but hopefully a voucher of some sort.

      • I bought a set of Oral B toothbrushes which they had at the wrong price and quickly changed and they honoured that deal. It wasn’t for as much but they were still top of the range so quite expensive- good luck!!

  • +2

why are people buying as gifts for mother’s day and not for themselves , are these things so useless only good as a gift …..nobody buying a home brew kit for mother’s day gift ?

    • +12

I purchased a thermalmix for mothers day last year. This year I'm buying her an emergency burns kit.

    • +4

People are spending so much on Mother’s Day - a totally consumerist event. It’s not even her birthday! My mum might get a bouquet of flowers and that’s it. It’s just a marketing day.

      • People are buying stuff for Mother’s Day cause they love their mothers!

        • +1

Then they should buy stuff for their mothers everyday of the year.

        • +1

@tightwod: Yes. Also tell them that we love them. Everyday

      • +3

Our local purveyor of flowers basically doubles their price on mothers day . I get mine the week before because I love her so much that I can't wait .

  • -1

Can someone who bought it successfully post a screenshot of the order confirmation email so that we can try price-matching elsewhere? Cheers!

  • +1

Great 1st post OP. I'll try to screenshot the receipt to help price match.

  • +1

Try the above link guys. Please let me know if it doesn't work. Hope the price match goes well.

    • works like a charm! cheers mate!

      • Did you try it in store?

        • +1

Just tried with Harvey Norman online and was declined

        • @shockrave:
HN online tends to be very strict with price matching, better try it in store instead.

  • Bugger, bought it for $650 a few days ago.

  • +6

How to make a profit: take a $100 product that people normally wouldn't buy. Sell it for $1600. No one buys it. Too expensive. Put it on sale for $300. Sells out. Bargain! Profit.

    • Invicta CEO is that you?

    • +1

A fool and their money are easily parted

  • +7

The nave never understood these machines. Why in the world with you need one? I knock up dinner every night for the family in 15 to 20 mins. Carbs, Veges and protein.

    • +1

it's an expensive hand hold into cooking.

    • It's like saying: "McDonalds is faster. I don't understand people spending 15 to 20 minutes for Carbs, Veges and protein"

      • Why cook when you can buy Domino's value range for $5? Too many people have fallen into this trap, to be healthy you have to cook at home.

        • Whose home? How does the food (the body?) know?

        • @thevofa: I'm sure you know what I mean, healthy home cooked meals, if you eat out, restaurants will usually add oils to the food, sure buying a frozen $3 pizza from coles and cooking it at home won't make any difference, I mean cooking healthy whole foods at home.

        • @freemoneyhunter:

But I do cook healthy whole foods at home. I don’t get people saying they need these tupe of machine to cook healthy whole foods.

There are many methods to cooking.

        • +1

@freemoneyhunter: Have you ever heard of slow cooked food? How can you achieve that in 15 minutes?

        • @freemoneyhunter:

          healthy whole foods

This is the only qualifier you need, not "cooked at home." Some people can't cook at home for various reasons yet do fine.

Right now I'm eating a falafel, lentil and quinoa salad from Sumo (got it on a flight, held onto it for later) - defo not cooked at home, defo more healthful than what I cooked at home this morning.

        • -1

@GregFiona: Ummmm you use a time machine? I never mentioned slow cooked food in 15 minutes what are you taking about?

        • @thevofa: Well that does sound healthy but usually oil is added to restaurant foods.

      • Actually it's nothing like saying that.

    • +2

I agree, it is a scam, pretty much the same thing can be done in a bread machine on the jam setting for less than $100. But for those who need 'another' kitchen gadget it's a good deal for $324 from $1600 I suppose (congrats to OP), I wouldn't be surprised many of these things will be free on the council kerbside cleanup in 6 months.

      • +2

lol I have a lot of friends with thermomixes that rarely use it now. Majority are asian n fell for the hype then realized there’s so much asian food that it cannot cook and they are not big on bread, baking and even baking, still need to use the oven.

      • bread machines don't cut up your food

    • +8

I am with you @aimon. My wife and I cook on different nights, she often uses her Thermomix knock off, takes longer, food is more processed, has more mess to clean up. While I can quickly put less processed, nutritious, (and in my opinion, but don't tell my wife, tastier…) food on the table with less mess.

I just don't get these machines.

However… I agree, good deal if you want one.
