Bit of background:
- Newbie rep posted this deal 'Unbranded Casual Lifestyle Sneakers from $19 (Save $9) + Free Delivery' and got absolutely flamed for trying to flog aliexpress shoes here
- Site is .com.au but default currency is set to USD + no ABN
- Shoes are supposedly shipped from Australia but website says '2-3 weeks' (dropshipping alert!)
- Newbie rep gives zero ducks about customer service and took a very defensive stance
- Realised his mistake (and also realised comments couldn't be edited) and so disabled his account
- Deal was unpublished
Rep's poor marketing skills aside, I've got a feeling this website sells counterfeit goods. For example, website is selling the Pharrell x adidas Hu NMD Silhouette for U$155 in all sizes, when the real deal was released 2 months ago, costs U$250, and is sold out pretty much everywhere.
The "reviews" from "real customers" are also fake, as the profile pictures can be found using reverse image search. Eg. "Roy" is a stock photo, "Martin" is Scotsman Jamie "oops, touched ya butt" Harron.
Did a little digging and turns out the website is registered to one Takdir Shrestha, who has an ABN for HOME FIRST Brokerage in Lindfield.
Hmmmmmm.
Definitely fake, alot of those shoes on the website would not have commercial quantities and the pricing is definitely suspicious. Anything that says 'new arrival' or '2018' also draws alot of suspicion.
