What response code?
1st was the eftpos machine displays something like - declined - service not available
didn't see receipt
Tried twice with ING no go , went fine with a different cardand just now, got declined again … receipt says "DECLINED - VE"
Because it has letters in it, sounds like a terminal issue that doesn't even reach ING.
Response codes from the issuer are usually numbers between 00 and 99.
There are 2 char letter responses, eg 'UC' for 'Uncharged card', which means try to process a refund on the wrong card, not the original (a popular complaint on OzBargain).
Dunno what NV means.
If @OP tried 3 cards then it sounds like a terminal error. Comms down or something.
What do you mean by recently? I don't remember if it was yesterday or the day before, I got declined that morning with Just a NAB debit card 3 times. No idea why since its always worked at this cafe, and has since. So maybe system was down for only some cards recently? (Not just ING?)
