  • G95 BC Amber 2W 150Lum Warm $8.00

why does that cost so much ?

    • LED filament design to mimic incandescents

  • +1

Not a huge fan of Mirabella, I find their colours a bit off also.

I prefer to buy Osram or Philips.

    • +2

      Same.

Bought a Mirabella led and had to return it because it flickered.

      Prefer the IKEA ones.

    • +2

not worth it when you can buy osrams and philips for the same price. osrams and philips have guarantees these don't. some of the osrams claim to have 15 years life. not losing the receipts for those.

experiencing high failure rate with mirabellas and i'm using them in open fixtures.

  • No multipacks?

  • tried to look up the diameter and length of the bulbs on their website (http://www.mirabella.com.au/products/globes/led-lamps/gls/le…) but couldn't find it. Are the size similar to Philips bulbs?

  • +1

    Not dimmable

  • I'm a Philips fan.
Bought a warm white 1400lm 15w Mirabella to give it a go. Not as bright as the Philips 13w equivalent that claims only 1300lm. It is also more yellow (not in a good way) than the Philips which was also warm white. And the bulb itself is bigger.

  • Been using mirabella globes for as long as I remember, only ever had one issue with their vintage incandescent filament lasting less than 2 weeks. Rang their customer service and was sent replacement LED Globes free of charge. Rather give my money to a family owned Australian business than the big corporates!

    • +1

and good on them for supporting the A-League!

  • In terms of wattage, what is the incandescent light bulb equivalent for a 15W led bulb?

  • Mirabella LEDs aren't good. Efficiency is low and colour profile is off.

    Go Philips or Osram:
    - Philips for bleeding edge efficiency and slighly cooler warm whites
    - Osram is for the more orangy light of yesteryear bulbs

  • Can anyone advise please … my place has a load of 12v halogen downlights (MR16). I bought a bunch of LEDs from AliExpress, but they flicker badly. Tried some from Bunnings, same flicker. Do I need to get an electrician to replace all the transformers, buy a different LED type, or is there a simple handyman solution?

    • +1

Either the transformer is pushing too much power into them or the draw from the transformer is too low. Find a decent electrician who can give you a good price on the lights or if you go somewhere like Beacon and buy in bulk they'll give you a trade price. Ultimately you'll still need an electrician no matter which way you go about it.

I replaced 26 halogen downlights with ledlux infinity downlights after our local Beacon gave us a couple to try out. No regrets at all. Had one fail about a week after putting it in so definitely as good as a doa. Beacon swapped it out no questions asked and since then it's been 5+ years without a failure. At the time we bought ours they had a 10 year warranty but now it's 5 years.

      • is it open without cover ?

i heard led dies prematurely if fitted inside lighting with sealed cover

    • your original transformer/driver not compatible with led hence flicker

led driver is avail at bunnings but need electrician to swap it out (2 screws, 2 wires, that's it)

  • How do the Woolworths LED bulbs compare which cost $10 for 2 normally?

  • Thanks mate, got 6 vintage style decorative globes for $8 each.

  • +1

If you like Philips LEDs. Promo 3 Pack of 10.5watt LED Bulbs now $15 at Bunnings. Over 150, 3packs at Bunnings Rockdale in Warm White and Cool White when I bought mine today. Eddison and Bayonet fittings available. Single bulb price is $12.95. https://www.bunnings.com.au/philips-10-5w-led-a60-a-shape-gl…
