Holy shit that mouse is ugly. Who the hell wants 50 buttons on a mouse? That's why keyboards exist.

  • its corded

Getting $200 off a PS4 Pro Console was a much better deal. avoid MR though, had to switch because of slow speeds.

I thought that too but there were deals that worked out much better value at the time from EB/JB/Amazon where the $200 off for the Pro was only available from the Sony online store and via a link specifically for the PS4 Pro console only.

do I just click on the link and wait for the tiny png file to tell me I get a mouse? how does this work?
there are some interesting reviews on the mouse and how it tries to do many things but does not compete with the actual items it replicates (flight stick/joystick/steering wheel) and that in many cases, superior items can be bought for less than it's $300AUD rrp

more importantly, MyRepublic are quite possibly the most inept and unprofessional group of lying arseholes I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with, and I have dealt with buzz just before they went under.

    "how bad could MyRepublic be?"
glad I asked. Everything was smooth at first, 12 days from order to connection 50/20 and speeds were pretty much 48/19 and my ping from perth to eastern states was nice, 40-50ms and I noticed local servers the pings were 100+, asked the question and they explained they do indeed route traffic through Melbourne for Perth users as they have a fast network etc.

On my kids insistence, signed up for the gamer pro addon and noticed some eastern states servers were a tad faster but no change other than that, asked MR what might have happened, they explained the gamerpro does work, it will lower latency and provide an amazing experience for gamers, I asked which games would I see the benefit of it "Oh, we don't provide a list".

Signed up for the 100/40 increase, was told 12-48 hours. I contacted via chat on the website and checked in the following day to see how things were going with the upgrade and the person said there was nothing noted. "I will get it sorted for you now, it will be done in 2-6 hours)
I contact again the following morning "We don't offer the 100/40 plan due to coexistence in your area" I was annoyed, asked why I was told different "I am unsure as there is no way we would have agreed"
On MR website there is a statement that they offer 100/40 trial on coexistence, which I contacted again with.
The one person this time who was helpful noted the wholesaler had made the updates, MR was having trouble actioning it.
Further contacts including phone calls to some truly appalling Australian Tech staff who all were quick to blame other depts and myself for not having it working but still not resolving anything.
I mentioned I was going to cancel the service, return the modem for a refund and move on "Oh we don't refund the modem purchase, it has been used" no joke it was used, it is a nice modem but there are a lot of features missing and accessible by MR that I don't want to worry about with another provider.
They stuck to the no refunds policy, I started my churn with MATE (who are very good) and sent a letter to the TIO with more detail than above.
Less than 4hours later I received an email from MR that they were refunding me the past months fee, the current month and the modem purchase and I can keep the purchase.

TLDR there are easier ways to get a free router than dealing with the incompetent muppets at MyRepublic
