  • this is an awesome deal, thanks!

  • is spin speed only 100 rpm?? the lg on same page has 1100 rpm.

    • +1

It would be a spelling mistake for 1000rpm.

      100rpm would be hilarious :P

    • I bought this lg 1100 rpm model this boxing day from good guys in 660. Very good with 4* energy and 4 1/2* water rating.

  • Great deal. Got a Whirlpool myself, you couldnt break these things if you tried.

    • +3

Its a 2 year warranty, and most products are made in China?

  • I will never buy a whirlpool front loader again, have had one that lasted 1.5 years and the replacement 6 months, they are cheap and nasty and nothing like the units the sell in the USA , we get the crap….

    • +1

By contrast our whirlpool 6.5 kg frontloader is still going strong after 4 years. We have 3 kids so the thing is running pretty much constantly, probably an average of 1 load a day in that time.

Ours has 1200rpm spin and was pretty much their top model at the time.

If it blew up tomorrow, I would buy WP again, easily.

      • +1

Another not so happy story with a whirlpool front loader. Ours was near the top of range at the time (1200rpm intelli this that etc.). Broke down after only a couple of years - the actuator failed. The technician who came over said it is apparently a common issue with whirlpool units. Another technician confirmed it was the actuator.

In contrast, we had a hoover top loader for 15 years! Now we have a Bosch unit, hopefully we have better luck with that.

But at the price offered here the Whirlpool would be mighty tmepting (if we didn't already have a Bosch).

Went to David Jones in the Arvo and they priced matched it and because it was apparently a deleted line from Whirlpool they still gave me the deal and sold me the newer model, SWEET! AND I also got rid of my Westfield Gift card, killed two birds with one stone. I have the receipt to upload if anyone wants it.

  • How do we know this is a bargain?

  • I think it's the old model and the current one is the 1073CD. I just bought the 1073 from AppliancesOnline for $598 delivered…. GoodGuys and BingLee couldn't get near the price with delivery included.

    • the guy above (ravzter) managed to get the same model 1073CD for $534…

      • That's a bargain, the original deal not so much. And it's not a proper price match as it's not like for like. Actuallt the Eljo pricematch below is even better. Shame I've already bought mine LOL

      • Delivered?

  • Bought the model up from this version, mid last year. I think its exactly the same, except it has a LED time remaining clock on it. Managed to haggle it from Harvey Norman for ~$550 from memory with 4 years extra extended warranty. Also got about half a years supply of OMO front load washing powder by redemption. (About 10 1kg boxes).

If anybody wants I can try to find the receipt.

Edit: Model is the Whirlpool WFS1073CD
From about 6 months usage, its a fantasic washing machine. Really gentle on your clothes and plenty of wash options. Only downside is that the spin cycle is a bit noisy, but then its noisy on most washing machines.

We bought the same one for $399 on sale at Good Guys Darwin two weeks ago

    • +3

prove it before you neg some1, thanks !

    • Can you scan and upload your receipt?

    • +2

It's true, Retravision was selling the the WFS1273BD model for $397 during the boxing day sales.
Good guys at the time also reduce their WFS1073CD to $399. This was in WA.

      • +2

if that is true, that would ve been hell of a deal , i wonder why nobody posted in ozbargain :)

  • We bought our Whirlpool front load back in 2003…and its still working fine. With 3 kids its going 1-2 loads a day.

    • +1

Do they shrink when you take them out?

  • -1

Why shoot down my comment?? You guys are the reason people are afraid to post anything on this website, and the reason I didn't post that deal when we got it.

    • +3

Nobody had a problem with your comment. They had a problem with you negging the deal unfairly. Post up a receipt!

I +ve you for being a bargain snipers' sinper

    • Can you tell me how long is the warrenty come with $534? and how much to extend the warrenty? thanks

    • Perfect timing as our current LG front loader is slowly dying.

    • Bargain deal! Wish I could have waited, but the price from appliances was the best around when I needed to buy :) Nice deal Eljo! :)

    • Can you please let me know what contry this washer is made in? Is it mexico or china??

  • Is AppliancesOnline around to pricematch this?

  • Hi Shanren, the warranty is a 2 year manufacturers warranty with Whirlpool. To extend it to 5 years it is $79.

  • Hi, I called Good Guys about the new model WFS1073CD and they are doing it for $669. I told them to price match DJ's for $534 but they said they will not as it is too low. I told them they have a price policy to do so and they said they can choose to price match or not.

Website policy says they will refund 120% of the difference within 30 days if cheaper elsewhere. I plan to buy one full price and go back in to get my difference so I will be paying (669-534 = 135 difference. 135x.2 = 27) 534 - 27 = $507 for the updated model.

    • check the conditions

the lower price usually needs to be advertised in mainstream media or brochures to be applicable

    • +3

      Buy it from Elijo

    • +1

long shot, some bargain hunter you are

    • Also in the T&A, there will also be something to say that if its under the cost price, then they want refund you.

Good luck. Personally I wouldn't bother trying when I can get it from Elijo for a good price.

  • Price match policies ALWAYS have conditions. It's not law that they have to price match. Myself and others who have worked in retail will confirm this. If it's below cost, they won't do it. If they do (like DJs have earlier in this thread), it's the salesman's fault and he will get his butt kicked.

I tried to get Bing Lee AND Good Guys to match the $598 delivered from AppliancesOnline/WinningApplicances (it's in their brochure) and they both told me they couldn't do it, they could get close without delivery, but not including.

  • i bought WFS1071BD (good guys rockdale) on boxing day $399 not inlcuded delivery :-)

  • Good Guys on Nepean highway in Brighton have the model up for $528. No sign of the model in the catalogue at all…
