Jetstar MasterCard 20K Bonus Qantas Points with $2000 Spend/First 60 Days $29 Annual Fee/1st Year $30 QFF Rewards Fee/Yr

150

Decent sign up of 20K Qantas points for only $29 annual fee for the first year, $69 thereafter. Also eligible for 14 month 0% balance transfer similar to the Woolworths credit card offer. Card appears to be provided through Macquarie, I've heard there might be some issues getting another Macquarie card if you already have a Macquarie card.

Comes with some other Jetstar perks:

  • No booking fees with Jetstar
  • 10% off on board purchases
  • 6 month interest free on travel purchases made through Jetstar.

Card Services is a division of Macquarie Bank Limited (ABN 46 008 583 542, Australian Credit Licence 237502) which provides and administers credit and is the issuer of the Jetstar MasterCard and Jetstar Platinum MasterCard.

Note:

  • A non-refundable Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards annual fee of $30 will apply to the Jetstar Mastercard and will be charged upon your first enrolment into Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards and then each year on the anniversary of your enrolment in Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards.
  • To be eligible for the bonus Qantas Points offer, you must apply for a Jetstar Mastercard before 31 October 2018, be approved and opt-in to Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards. Receive 20,000 bonus Qantas Points if you spend $2,000 on eligible purchases within 60 days of card approval. The 20,000 bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer Account within 60 days of meeting the spend requirement, provided that you are not in breach of the Conditions of Use, your Account remains open and you have provided Card Services with a valid Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number. The bonus Qantas Points will not be included in the annual maximum Qantas Points earn of 25,000 Qantas Points.

  • whats the credit limit?

    • Minimum credit limit is $2000 as per the key fact sheet on page 1 of the application. There doesn't appear too be a maximum but given that this is not a Platinum card I imagine it wouldn't be huge.

The same point bonus is available on the Platinum card, though.

    Thanks for the post.
    Please beware the small print:
A non-refundable Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards annual fee of $30 will apply to the Jetstar Mastercard and will be charged upon your first enrolment into Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards and then each year on the anniversary of your enrolment in Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards.

I have this card and ignored the small print and I was charged $29+$30. But still a good deal for 20000 points.

There is not supposed to be an annual fee for QFF. Its a once off joining fee..

      • +1

Well, it’s kind of other bank issued card, if you choose to have qantas point you pay a joining fee. But if you choose bank’s own rewarding system, there is no fee attached. And also this joining fee or enrollment fee is charged every year

Similar to this, Jetstar card has its own Jetstar dollar program which does not charge this joining fee.

You could possible open link of the post and search for $30 and you will see what I mean.

So the annual fee is actually $59 if you want to receive qantas points for which you only get 0.5 points /$.

    This link shows

"20,000 Bonus points if you sign up by 30 April 2018 and spend $2000 in first 60 days"

Not 20,000 Bonus points just for signing up and offer seems would be expired too?

    • I don't think it has expired as it says that you need to apply by October 31, 2018 in both the banner and the terms at the bottom of the page.

      • Says 30th April to me in both sections.

      • Strange but I don't see any of that when I click on the link

        • This is what I am seeing, but I am on a desktop.

@Gururek, are you viewing on mobile as well?

        • +1

          @douglasac10:

I saw the same on desktop and mobile. Maybe i need to do a hard refresh although I've never been to this page before

And it still says minimum spend required to get the 20k points not points simply for signing up.

So it's going to cost you $29 + 30 = $59 to get the points?

        • +1

          @icanfly: Seems that way.

In saying that, the only comparable cards with a bonus are:

          • the ANZ Frequent Flyer card which has 25000 points after $2.5k spend within 3 months and no annual fee for the first year. This, however, is a terrible card as it only earns 0.5 points to $500 per statement period, then 0.25 points per dollar after that.
          • the NAB Qantas Rewards Card, which has a 30000 point bonus after $1500 spend in 60 days, but a $95 annual fee. It has 0.5 points up to $3000 per statement period at which point you get 0 points per dollar spent.

For the record, this Jetstar card has an annual points cap (as opposed to monthly), with no points after $50000 spend in a year, which probably makes it one of the better non-platinum cards available in that respect for Qantas points.

Qantas Everyday Credit Card is 20k points for $2k spend in first and second month, no annual fee. Total of 40k points. Minimum credit limit is $4k.

  • Does it charge fees on oversea purchase?

  • Virgin money do a $64 annual fee, 20k / month for 3 months with 1.5k spend each month + $128 flight voucher. Had to report them to the Fso to get the points, but that's a Citibank product.
