Bluetooth FM Transmitter

Hi all, I am looking at a Bluetooth FM transmitter at JoyBuy: https://www.joybuy.com/3329101.html

I have used a couple Bluetooth FM transmitter because that's the only way to be able to play music from my phone on my car stereo (it doesn't have a Aux input). I have tried products from Kensington and Xiaomi. While both give me an okay sound quality but both are also very weak in volume.

Before you ask, I don't have any particular reason to believe that this product in JoyBuy will be any different. But I am wondering if any of you have any experience with the product.

Or if you know how to boost the volume gain in this thing.

Thank you.

why not replace your car stereo?

then you don't have to keep spending money on bluetooth FM transmitters.

look for a deal like this Pioneer unit from JB

or a inexpensive unit from china - something like this one for $27 delivered

    • Also some older stereos that have a CD changer can be used as an AUX in port with the right converter cable.

I had an old JVC from the late 90's in my first car which I did it that way until I put in one of the classic Sony black face DIN units with the old school OLED displays in the mid 2000s.

    • I was thinking to replace my car stereo altogether, the head unit and all the speakers. Do you know what's the installation cost? Thanks.

      • it will depend on the make/model/year of your car, how the dash is set up and how many speakers you currently have and how hard the install will be

        • The car is 2004 Camry.

  • I use the Xiaomi Roidmi 3s and its great, bluetooth to the device and transmits via fm. Clearer than any generic fm transmitter i have used in the past, and doubles as a handsfree speaker/mic for voice calls. Don't know how well it does that but i can recommend it for music. Definitely isnt any weaker in volume than a direct bluetooth or aux connection.

    • Not for me. I have Xiaomi Roidmi 3S and it is way weaker than normal FM radio.

      • I have a friend with an iphone that seems to go quiet over bluetooth even when turned up to full volume, though sometimes it will snap back to normal and blast everyone… Maybe you have a similar problem and the issue is with your phone and not the transmitter…

        • Uhm… less likely because I have tried with different phone as well.

  • I've been using the Nulaxy KM24, its fantastic, the odd bluetooth disconnection but yelling at siri quickly has it sorted in my old subaru without an aux or bluetooth

It's like $26 on amazon au and came next day

Highly recommend, plus it has custom channels (87.5 works amazingly if your radio can get tuned to that)

    • Have you tried Roidmi 3S? I just want to know the comparison between the two.

      • i havent, but my subaru liberty has a pretty good sound system in it which always sounded like trash with every other fm transmitter

personally id rather deal with amazon.com.au than joybuy, plus the fm transmitter is within aus

the km24 is usually highly recommended and the reviews are great for it

  • Hi, just a tip on the volume thing. With FM transmitters, you sometimes need to turn the volume up on the device you're transmitting from as well as the device you're listening from. So, if you're transmitting from your phone to your car you may need to turn the volume up on your phone, then the car speakers (and possibly the fm transmitter). Just a thought as I've had that issue before.

    • Yeah I have done that with Roidmi 3S but it is still way weaker compared to normal FM radio.
