      I concur.
This is a fantastic phone for $201. Great battery life, great screen, great design, and great rear camera.

The "dealbreaker" is the No Band28 (700MHz LTE).
Other letdowns (from most to least important) are: Outdated Software (Android 7.0), omission of NFC, no IP68 protection, not upgraded to QSD 636 processor, weak bottom-firing monospeaker, tall length, mediocre StB ratio, poor front-camera performance, love-hate Skinned Software.

Try a ZTE Axon 7 they are pretty cheap on ebay because of the US ban https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1…

Just you will have problems updating them. Otherwise a Redmi note is probably the best deal from chinese sellers.

Yep, the previous flagship 2.4GHz QSD 821, is slightly ahead of the old 1.9GHz QSD 820, is slightly ahead of the mid-range king QSD 660, slightly more-ahead of the budget QSD 636, and a big leap ahead of the QSD 630/625 twins.

So a 2016 flagship can be a better option, than a 2017-2018 midranger.
Particular standouts are the ZTE Axon 7, LG G6, and Samsung S7 for a budget between $200-$500.
