Cost of Hungry Jacks Fries

Why is it that I can find the cost of anything from Hungry Jacks, including all the current vouchers but can not find anywhere how much the fries are?

Basically I was considering getting two burgers for $7.95 for me and the wife and was curious how much extra fries would be.

Why do they hide the price?

Do they assume that you will just get a value meal?

I don't want one as I never drink their drinks.

    just ask them?

Because individually they're sold at 'retail' price… which no one would pay for. Which is why they're bundled up with other products and labeled a value meal where you saved $x.xx

They usually have a full menu price list in store but it is always in inconspicuous place.

Yep it's often on the wall directly behind the cashier so you may have to ask them to move out of the way.

  • Yes pretty annoying when there's no prices on the board for individual items - my local HJ had the full menu on the entrance window
Price of stand alone fries are usually the same cost as the combo upgrade fries + drink

Thanks but i am using a voucher for 2 burgers for $7.95 so $3.975 each.
So if medium fries were $2.50 then it would be $12.95 for 2 burgers and 2 medium fries.
Doubt If I could get any 2 combo meals (with the burger I want bacon deluxe) for that price…

Online price for Bacon Deluxe combo (medium) = $10.80 each so $21.60..

      • Really? to 3 decimal places.. really? get a life buddy

      • lol

  • Ask for a bottle of water for your drink. I'm sure you can drink that.

      See above.

Stores should display the individual pricing sheet somewhere on the front of store.
Prices etc. aren't available online because costs rise and fall depending on where you are; Southern Cross and Hindley St would be more expensive compared to Ringwood and Elizabeth.
I used to be able to remember all the items costs but they change the prices too much to be able to remember them
    Edit: just a HJ's worker

    • Thanks.

I just wanted to know a ball park figure of 2 medium fries so I could add it to the $7.95 (for 2 burgers) to see if the total cost was cheaper than 2 combo meals before I arrived at the drive through. Hate having to number crunch under pressure..:)

      PS

      Yes I am that poor…:)

you can afford a car to drive to the drive through, you're less poor than I am.

on another note, HJs chips are shit

        • Amazingly they were very nice today, seemed thicker & crispier..

Everyone's a battler living on Struggle St.

        • I really lovethem since they changed the seasoning. Best national chain chips.

        • I beg to differ- almost all other fast food chain's chips are better than KFC!

      • Medium Fries were $3 so 2 x Bacon Deluxe Burger & 2 x Medium Fries = $13.95
Not bad when compared to 2 x "Value Combo" meal for $21.60
        But that extra $7.65 does include 2 drinks…which I didn't want anyway.
        Thanks

So obvious! They dont want you to buy thier fries.
After all Its the burgers that are better at Hungry Jacks - not the fries

    10th wedding anniversary?

  • Some of the restaurants actually have a list of all of the prices.
I agree though, it really bothers me how they hide the prices. I ask them but probably look like a clown talking to them for 5 minutes finding all the prices before ordering. Each item has 2 or 3 sizes as well so there are a lot of prices to know about.

I ordered Angry Onions without asking for the price, and it was $3.10 for the small size. Big rip off when onion rings are $1 and fries $2. They weren't even good.

I can share a photo I took of the prices in one of the HJ's in the Melbourne CBD, consider it a rough guideline as I imagine prices vary.
    Here.

    • Yeah those prices seem on par (some things may be +10 or 50cents) but as I said pricing varies
