[PS4, XB1] Okami HD - $9, DMC Definitive Edition, Tales from The Borderlands - $4, More Instore @ EB Games Half Yearly Clearance

1300

Deals are now starting to be updated online and stickering has begun in store. Some clearance items may not appear on the website

Other games I found were:
Has Been Heroes [PS4] -$4
Sine Mora EX [PS4] - $9
Song of the Deep [PS4] - $4

Strangely, but not unexpectedly, the switch versions of games are all more expensive or simply not reduced at all (e.g. has been Heroes is still $40 for the Switch version)

Also worth noting if you're a Switch user, Okami HD will be coming to Switch, but with no firm release date or any details pertaining to a physical release or pricing, it's worth picking up on PS4 or XB1 for that price if you have one of those systems available.

  • When does the sale start? I mesaaged eb facebook on the weekend asking when the next big sale was and they said there's no news. Ugh

    • +1

Starts in store today. Website will probably update through the week

      • Thanks for this, I ordered Okami and Quantum Break for $9 each and today my delivery arrived and Quantum Break Break was The Timeless Collectors Editions

        • Good stuff. I must go back and finish Quantum Break!

  • +2

Okami been updated on the site and DMC doesn't seem to be on the site

Must have just updated after posting. Will update thanks!

Hmmm I wonder if there's a copy of Until Dawn…

You have a beautiful hand, just stunning.

Have you ever considered hand modelling?

    • Comment of the year

      • That or creepiest

    • You joke (I recognise that Seinfeld reference!), but hand models are definitely a very serious thing, despite all the 'hand job' jokes they get :)

I work in advertising at an agency and have worked with a hand model or two before.

      • +2

        Worked ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    • Agree, OP must exfoliate daily.

    • Wait until he can't master his own domain.

    Any PC game deals?

    • +1

Probably a ton. You can use their search engine and sort by price on the EB website.

      • Nope, doesnt work like that. They're sorted by their original (Was) price not the new discounted price.

        • +1

There's a search tool that lets you search within given parameters.

Eg products ranging from $1 to $9

        • +1

          @Ninternet:

Forgive me for being such a noob, but how do I find this special search tool?

        • @Ninternet: Thanks mate, forgot about that.

        • @canusich:
Thanks so much for sharing. I don't think that functionality has a user interface on their website. I think it just depends on knowing how to manipulate the search box. That's brilliant!

edit - it appears I was wrong… Now that I've followed that link, there's a whole search page with all those filters….

arrgghhh. I've just only realised that the magnifying glass is a button that takes me to the search page. Totally feel like a noob now.

  • +1

Thanks Ninternet, grabbed the Victor Vran and AereA SE's. $4 each man, crazy.

    • hi Tihocan, what's AereA SE?

        • Oh… thanks Nom

        • @Innamura:
Not sure why anyone would buy a game that's reviewed so spectacularly bad !

        • @Nom: at $4, I've had more expensive bad cups of coffee - also I didn't read the reviews hah.
I've got 3 young kids so this might be ok for a play (assuming I read it correctly and it's local MP).

  • dohhh need XB1

  • +1

Would Okami be much better on switch? I think touch screen would be better for the art stuff, but ps4 has the touchpad as well.

    • I'm not too sure about the touch stuff, but I know that the Switch should have no problem running the game.

If you look into it, the PS3 could even run the game at 4k, but due to the system's restrictions, actively downsampled to 1080p.

I did really want the switch version (I'm one of those people who would prefer every game on switch), but by the time it releases it will for sure be about $50 or $60 and may be digital only if you follow Capcoms record with Switch (Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 for example).

      • It is digital only. Will be 25-30

        • Where did you hear that out of curiosity?

        • @Ninternet: the direct mentioned its digital only. It retails for 25 on ps4. Usually switch digital prices are the same or less in australia comapred to ps4

        • @Dany34:
Pretty sure the direct never said anything about being digital only.
Can you provide any links to clarify?

        • @Ninternet: if you do a google search you can find the wording used is it is coming to the eshop. The tweet after announcement also said releasing on eshop. No mention of xoming physical. I may be wrong but the general consensus is that it will be digital only

    • Might be more convenient to draw on it. But the game pauses when you're drawing, so even with dual shock, you're under no pressure. You can take your time. It's also very lenient in recognizing your drawings, so if it doesn't look the way it should, it will still work. You're never asked to draw anything complex, and most shapes are a circle or a line.

I think it will look better on PS4 due to 4K 60 support. But if you want to play it on the go, then get the Switch version.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle & L.A. Noire (preowned) for $36 is a great deal!

    • $36 switch preowned is a great price for Mario. Bought. Hopefully it includes the original case.

      • That's the gamble you take with these clowns. Shows a cover on the listing, hides the fact that you may not receive one under a tiny question mark. I got a brand new copy of M+R with cover for $13 more from friends Big W. Now that's a great deal!

    • Isn’t la Noire have a Download Code?

      • +1

I dont recall getting a code with my new copy.

It does require content to be downloaded however

$19 for Final Fantasy XII on PS4 is pretty good!

    • Been waiting for a price drop on this also

    • I just paid $22 for this on ebay used :/

      • +8

Those $3 will haunt you for a while, but the pain will pass eventually.

    • XIV: Stormblood is $15 as well

      • XIV is the one I choose to forget exists. Meh @ MMO subscription

        • For the most part it feels devoid of all the dodgy freemium rubbish you often get and it has a pretty constant stream of new content.

It’s well worth it for me. Go with the “starter” sub, though. Much cheaper and there’s no need to have multiple alts on the same server.

          Horses for courses, though. :)

        • It's the best MMO this side of WoW. Do yourself a favour if you're into MMOs at all and/or FF.

Thanks OP - grabbed Okami for click-n-collect at my local 👍

  • Cheers just grabbed Okami HD for $9 clock and collect… Annoying as I still haven't played the PS3 one I imported.. stupid backlog

    • I bought DMC on 360 for $1 during a JB clearance hoping that it'd eventually become backwards compatible or something. To this day I still haven't played it and just bought the remastered version.

I also own Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on Switch despite already owning it on Wii U as well as Mario Kart 8, Breath of the Wild and Shovel Knight

      I totally understand your pain

      • I bought a heap of games at that clearance but DMC wasnt available when I was there. If you need a buyer to offload to let me know.

    • Scarp that…

      "Well this is embarassing.

It seems the team at XXX couldn't find your items. They searched high and low, but nada. Zilch. Zip. Nothing."

      Typical…
Just popped onto a different store and grabbed $50 worth of $4 games and a $9 one, no Okami or DMC though :(

      • They did that to me with 4 items last time I tried to buy from them. Their inventory system is archaic.

        • Place separate orders for each game if click n collecting.. employee dude said to me before that if only 1 game is out of stock they still have to cancel the whole order as their system is shit.

I still ordered only the one Okami and it still failed tho lol, thankfully another near by had stock.

      • Common practice with EB and their sales. A multi million dollar company with a ten cent IT budget.

    • haha. I did the same as you with my PS2 copy. I played about 11 hours of it, took a break and never went back.

Then I bought it on PS3 and finished it. Long game but fun.

I'm not buying it a 3rd time though.

As a PS2 game, it still holds up as one of the prettiest games ever made.

  • +1

Missed out on Okami, the damn site - mate told me DISABLE AD BLOCK when checking out, doh :/ oh well

    • seems like it's still available. I just placed an order.

      • I wasn't willing to pay $9 shipping, when I own it on PS3 and it runs at 4k there (downscaled to 1080p)

I'll pay $9 for a game I love, but I (probably) won't finish it a second time, so it's more a thank you buy, ie: $9

(most of Melb is sold out now)

  • +1

    WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!

When did Okami get released on other platforms?! I thought it was a PS exclusive?!

    • +1

It was released on the wii years ago. Has not been exclusive for a very long time

      • +1

Oh man…I did not know this! It's on Steam now too!

        • The PS4/XB1 editions of the game have only been out for around 6 months. Prior to that there was a Wii version (as mentioned above), a PS3 version and even a DS exclusive sequel/spin-off.

Will also be coming to Switch in the near future

  • DMC @ $4 instore only?

    • Apparently so. Didn't know that when posting unfortunately.

  • I paid $19 for Tales of the Borderlands at EB today in-store. Certainly wasn't $4 :\
Edit: dang, $4 is the new price. I bought pre-owned.

    • What system out of curiosity? It was definitely $4 in my store and even online. Unless your copy was preowned?

      Edit: just saw op edit

    • buy the new version if you want to and return the used copy

If you have simply changed your mind and you are able to provide a valid receipt, or you are a member of our loyalty program EB World, EB Games may offer you an exchange or refund provided that the merchandise:

      is in saleable condition
is unworn or unused with all original packaging and content included
is not subject to the exclusions listed below

and the exchange or refund is sought within 7 days of purchase. At times throughout the year, EB Games may extend the 7 day period to allow for gift giving periods such as Christmas.

      • What a crock. It's a widely known fact that plenty of people treat it as a rental service where the play the game and then return it for a refund. Hardly unused at all. Second hand games at prices higher than new elsewhere, come on down to EB Games for the deal of a lifetime.

  • Thanks OP!
Got okami, Utawarerumono 1 and 2 ($19), Cladun ($19) Shovel knight for wii u $4, Fire emblem fates bundle $23.

    • Shovel Knight physical for $4 is a steal. Great game plus manual and digital soundtrack I believe.

      • Thats great, I think the Ps4 edition also has those items.
Now I have the physical ps4, wii u and vita editions.
Hah this games on everything I bet they release a switch version too.

        • +1

I've got the physical version for the PS Vita and I think it has the digi soundtrack also, but now looking at the description online I'm not sure it does. Anyway - great game. Enjoyed it to the point I grabbed the shovel knight amiibo for display :) Then grabbed the 3DS version too :-))

  • Anyone got a complete list of games that are on sale in this?
All I can find is a Nintendo game list.

  • Where is Shovel Knight for $4?

    Edit - Ahh sold out

  • Thanks OP, bought TftB & Okami.

  • I got myself Okami & Song of the Deep for PS4

Guessing both these games play and look the same on XBOX one too?

    • Well depends on if you have a pro or one x but yes pretty much the same on both

      • Have both PRO & X

  • Are these instore prices too?

    • Well the pic shows that so i would say yes

  • Thanks heaps OP, got Okami and Song of the Deep for Xbone

You can follow these link to see all PS4 games on special.

  • Also picked up song of the deep

  • Managed to grab Okami HD for the PS4 with a click and collect order. I placed another click and collect order for Song of the Deep and Victor Vran which were both in stock at my local store but now I've received an email saying 'Oops we can't find these items, too bad' with no option other than refund. Dodgy!

  • also ordered a copy of Tales from the Borderlands

  • AC origins god edition going for $68, if I can sell my copy for $50, I would buy the god edition from EBGames. Its a shame that the save game wont be compitable :(

    • Should be no issue with save game if its the same system

      • the issue is my edition is from the US, got it from someone working at Playstation. if i buy this, I will keep everything besides the game, hope I can sell it for $40 atleast.

  • Okami seems to be out of stock in metropolitan NSW.
