[RESOLVED] OzBargain - Website Loads Veryyyyyy Slow

I've been noticing from the last few months, Ozbargain website is loading super slow and not sure if it's just me.

I type in the address and press enter, it takes about 10-15 seconds to load the front page. I have tried different computers / browsers etc but it is still very slow. I remember in the past the website used to be very fast and almost instant.

Have you guys changed host servers or something?

  • Our provider (BinaryLane) has migrated our database server to a different host node and it should be faster now.

    • very fast!!

Way better now, it was very slow this morning, took over 5 seconds to submit a deal.

    • Thanks Scotty, yes it seems to be working fine today.

Also have to remind myself that I am in WA which often means "Wait A While". ;)

    I don't have this issue?

  • no issue for me.

  • Could be your isp, try this https://kb.intermedia.net/article/682

  • Have had this, suspect it might be time of day/night. Often recently it's been night!, and I am on a well functioning NBN/Telstra plan,so the issue could just be an overload of OZbargain servers ?!.

    Comment loading…

    • There's always one isn't there :P

  • Our host has migrated the VPS running our database to a different node a few days ago, which severely degraded the performance. Combining with extra traffic on the Click Frenzy day — yes it has been running very slow today. I'm trying to get the provider to migrate the database to a less loaded server, hopefully soon.

  • Everything is slow if you're Barry Allen :)

  • Yup I noticed it a few weeks ago with forms taking a while to submit or pages loading. I knew scotty/moocher would have been all over it.

    Get better internet! :P

  • Did we get hit with the legendary Ajitus Pais?

  • It's because addicts like me keep refreshing the pages to scan for new bargains.

On that note, is there a dedicated thread or page for the Click Frenzy today/tonight like we had on Boxing Day? Anyone?
