250ml Redbull $0.99ea (ALDI)

410

250ml Redbull cans @ $0.99ea

Just ran up the local ALDI to grab something to cook and saw this!
I can't confirm if its national or how long for, but thought it was too good to miss if it is group wide!
The cans have a sticker saying "Imported for ALDI from Austria" so I'd say it's likely to be everywhere.
I'm going to check a couple more stores in the morning.
This isn't advertised in their catalogues and I can't find it on their website.

Between this and the $13 mother packs last week, my fridge has never looked so good!!

    and 99c/kg bananas!

    • thats not exactly cheap….

      • Aren't they normally $3.99/KG, and $2.99 or $1.99 on sale?

        • They're normally 99c a kilo where I work.

88cents/kg cents at the fruit shop outside.

They went up to $1.48 this week…

For a (very) long time Aldi has had cans of something very Red Bull-esque that were rebranded "Flying Power" (lol), that recently got a price reduction to 99c.

According to someone on whirlpool who asked a manager, for some reason Aldi couldn't get a supply of Flying Power for some time, so they're substituting with a stock of Red Bull they were able to source.

That said, my local Aldi has had Red Bull for a few weeks now; during the transition the Red Bull cans initially scanned as "Flying Power", but now they show up on the docket as "Red Bull".

    • Yep - I noticed the same. I'm almost certain that the ingredients are the same, and the Flying Power is made in Belgium.

Before "Flying Power" was "Red Thunder", or at least that was in ALDI's when I lived in the UK.

Thanks for the info. I liked the "Flying Power" as a cheap Redbull substitute and was worried when my local ALDI seemed to have switched to "Wicked". Today was the first time I had seen Redbull on the shelves and I may have got carried away with a few cans! lol

  • Aldi, please come to SA. What's stopping you?

      A lack of people.

      • Only 1.3 million people in Adelaide. I agree, far too small.

        • There's 300000 people on the Central Coast and 580000 in the Hunter and we've got Aldi like its Maccas.

Must be other reasons - logistical perhaps…

    • I feel so sorry for Adelaide, no one wants to go there, even to make money.

Aldi's been great for my local area as they've kept Coles and Woolies very honest in terms of pricing. Hope you get one soon mate.

  • They had 375ml cans of Wicked for 99c before

red bull = very much overpriced
mothers, monsters are larger and often are on discount, they are just as good

and go easy on these, kind of addictive and wouldn't do much good to ur body either
but i find them good for keeping u alert on long drives

    • monsters seriously…

    • I suppose a lot of people just need something to mix with their 42 Below.

      • I would never drive on these, they are designed to keep you alert but unless you keep drinking them, the low will be worse than before you drank it.
        If that makes sense.

        • Thats only for people who crash when consuming a lot of sugar.

I just buy rockstar recovery, no sugar and keeps me alert without crashing.

        • Havent tried that one yet

        Pfffft, more like JagermĂ©ifter…. :P

  • haha btw check the place of production as well, its AUSTRIA:P FLEW ALL THE WAY FROM EUROPE just so they get to sell for 1buck. BARGAIN for us!! (according to my infamous future doctor friend)

    • +1

Last I checked all Red Bull is imported from Europe, as is some of the Monster…..

      • Correct. "Normal" Redbull cans here have printed on the cans "Made In Switzerland" and "Imported By Redbull"

        • I have one from a while back that says "Made in Austria, Imported by Redbull Australasia".
          Maybe they've changed recently?

        • Small cans are made in Austria. Large cans are made in Switzerland. I'm waiting for Red Bull Cola to show up locally (also from Switzerland). Love that stuff :-)

        • Small Cans from Austria, large from Switzerland and bottles from Austria.

          I don't know about the ~355mL cans.

Well, the country of Origin of Red Bull is Austria, so you get the Original! See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bull

  • Not sure what the go with Redbull branding is but I know ALdi sells the popular brand with the different design and names under their brand more than likely they are known brands from same factory but different designs and name specifically made for ALDI, and they pass the saving directly to you because of less advestising cost.

  • Did they have Sugar-free?

  • +4

I guess most of you guys probably wonot find those red bulls in aldi, cuz small stores will walk in and take all of them since 99c is way lower than wholesale price

  • No one has actually confirmed if this is available at 99c in other stores :s

    • I just got back from a different local store and they had the same deal there.
Of course, I had to buy more :S
      I'm not addicted I swear!

  • Mate it's gonna give u wings

Every can you buy, Sebastian Vettel will personally autograph.

  • None at Aldi Mermaid Waters. Couldn't even find their usual Aldi branded ones.

  • anyone know if its avaliable in the west side of sydney??
Im trying to call through the stores to check but know one bloody answers the phone..

Chatswood Sydney has them.. and I bought 10 boxes.. which is means I got 240cans… hahahhaha… there still like 5 boxes there…. the checked out girl kicked up a fuss about how many I bought and had to get the manager, and the manager come out what I wanted use for, I am like.. mate.. I drink 2 a day… and it is good for a year.. so trying to stock up.. and he let me bought it… stupid check out girl…

    • Just curious

How long have you been drinking them for, and do you still get a high from it?

I used to drink energy drinks often and I found the effects diminished greatly.

Now I just get it occasionally when needed and find it more worth it.

it does taste great though :)

      • lol.. the effects does diminish greatly if you drink too much of it.. but I look at the label and it is good for a year.. so I am kinda stocking up, thats why I bought so many.(AND YES I KNOW it is bad for you health wise blah blah blah.. stop giving me lectures)…

So what I do is I usually alternate between coffee and redbull every other day that helps.. and also… I tend to have red bull just before I go out at weekends to give me that extra 2-3 hour kick thats it… it doesn't last longer than that the I feel tired again..

        • Just feel lucky that the sugar doesn't make you crash shortly after, it does for me when i'm tired :(. The sugar free versions are good at keeping me awake.

  • Went to ALDI after seeing this on OZBARGAIN.
Bought 12 from Green Point on the Central Coast-NSW.
Had trouble finding them on the floor…assuming that's where they be.
Only in the fridged section so that's a double bonus as cooled drinks are usually more expensive!

Also spoke to the dude on checkout and he said it's not even a special price.

***** This will be there regular price ******

….and he also gave me the Flying Power story.

  • WHAO???? This is their regular price??? not even special price… Aren't Coles/woolworth is going to kick up a fuss to Red Bull about Aldi selling it so cheap??? Who would ever buy from Coles/Woolworth again and pay $2-$2.50 even on special?????

  • Aldi Mulgrave, only had flying power and V

  • just bought from aldi hornsby…like u said its not a special…its there regular price..
