  • Anybody know much about these units, any other alternatives?

Haven't found the RK3328 a particularly good processor. I'd recommend the Nvidia Shield, Mi Box, Mecool M8S Pro L, WeTek Hub or some of the MINIX units. It really depends what you want to do - most boxes will play local media files fine, HD Netflix is limited to a few boxes that support appropriate DRM, and if you're wanting to play games look for the Amlogic S912, Tegra X1, RK3399 or RK3288 processor as these offer the necessary GPU performance.

      • I’ll second the lacklustre performance of the RK3328 chipset. It even struggles with FHD streaming off my local network if the encoding is too dense.

  • I'm about to get the 2nd Gen Telstra TV, do these boxes offer anything extra other than the ability to record?

You can run Android apps and games, but if you're a Netflix user - expect 480p video as only a few Android boxes support DRM required for HD and 4K Netflix

      • thanks alot Darkscythe, can you recommend a decent one for watching TV, netflicks and the likes? I wont be playing games, mostly streaming TV shows, movies, hopefully some live sport as well.

  • Shit bought one for $120 off eBay like 2 and half hours ago…

  • Difference between this and MX10?
