Just a reminder, don't throw batteries out in the general waste, the toxic chemicals and metals can leak when they erode in landfill and contaminate the environment.

Aldi, Officeworks, Ikea and Battery World have drop off points where they take them for free and recycle them.

Tbh I don't really that much about the environment per se, but I do worry about the inevitable health hazards of a toxic environment.

    • Do they (Aldi, OW, etc.. take lithium batery ? Thanks

Aldi don't, they just take as to d standard cells. Not sure about the others, I generally abandon my rooted lithium cells at battery world…

    How Tactical!
Potassium Hydroxide anode, like every Duracell or Energiser (or Varta or no name alkaline).

I can't believe people are downvoting this. Learn some damn chemistry so you don't think that batteries like these are anything other than alkaline.

If the $0.50 price per battery excites you and you think these are good batteries, great. But the fact that they've been posted on Ozbargain as if they're something special really annoys me.

Personally I'd rather buy energizer on sale when they come in at half price.

      • I buy energiser when they are on sale.
I’m not sure why but I’ve always thought they were the best.
Do yo know why they are the best?

      • Plus $10 postage. Not so great a deal when postage is added either.

  • Varta AA Alkaline Batteries - 30 Pack $9.92
Varta - Made in Germany -$0.33 each.
Everyday price seems like a better deal, than risking it on some 'clearance' deal. (are they duds?)

  • Are these versions the ones with the hidden microphones or tracking beacon?

  • No eneloop, no deal :D
