Does anyone use Acorn/Raiz here?
How does it compare to spaceship voyager?
I'm looking for an app for saving up some money for future use. And found that these apps have good review in google app store and it always do its advertising in FB.
How do you guys think about it and will you use it? Thanks.
Investing small amounts of money. Really small amounts. They round up whatever you spend to the nearest dollar and deposits in your investment with them, it rises and falls with the stocks but it's good for little savings goals.
Attraction of Spaceship is no fees for balance under $5k, but I have not been able to view any data on their performance. Raiz has built quite a reputation and seems more refined then spaceship, however does have slightly higher fees.
Youll find most reviews say nothing but good things about Acorns. However this article makes a really good point about the fees as a % of what you contribute. It can potentially mean fees of up to 8%.

Last year, my NY resolution was to stop gambling.
I was spending about $10 / week & now invest in Acorns / Raiz.
I know the return isn't great, but happy to see my money going up, rather than disappearing !

I'm a Spaceship user and have been happy with it so far as it gives me the flexibility to deposit on demand rather than a set weekly amount. My use case is that this is where I deposit money for my kids when they receive money from birthdays and the like.
For those that were referred how long did it take to get the $20 referral after you signed up? Do you have to set a regular investment to be eligible?
I referred a couple of people and they got the credit within the month and you only need a balance of $5 to receive it, no regular investment required.
I've been using Raiz for a 6+ months now and am quite content with the returns (taking into consideration fees).
Currently sitting on 14% ROI.
Can't comment on Spaceship Voyager as I haven't used it but I have heard its a similar product.
