  • Doesn't ship to Oz? I'm not familiar with shipping services out of the EU. Anyone else?

    • +2

Even though it says it doesn't ship to Australia, if you go through check out, it will work.

Tempted to get the AVR-X4400H 🤔

    • Yes. That's what I want too :-)

    • +1

Same, but the 4400 will attract GST as it'll be above the $1000 value threshold. I got the 2400h from Amazon.de whilst I wait to get a bigger lounge-room and for the price to drop lower.
For what its worth, Amazon.de shipped my amp much faster than I was ever expecting. Delivered in 2 business days (travelled via UK over a weekend)

      • Noticed that NZ prices for the 4400 are significantly cheaper than here. ie NZ$2500. Wonder why that is?

        • Hmmm I'm wondering if it's like the issue Kef has with our distributor…

        • Hmm.. Do tell more… :-)

  • Only one input is 2.2? That's extremely bad and a huge deal breaker, or an edit needed?

    • The Denon site has different specs it looks like. Denon site says 8 HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs (Amazon says three outputs). Denon says all HDMI inputs/outputs support HDCP.

    • I was looking at the back of mine last night, I know it has 3 outputs all hdcp2.2 (Zone 1 monitor 1&2, Zone 2), I'm not sure on inputs but I ran my Xbox one S with a 4k movie through the 3rd hdmi input (it is nominally tagged as the blu ray input) last night

  • Darn, I literally just opened mine last night. Paid $997 :(

    • where did you purchase your amp from? online international seller or locally? thanks

Unless the wifi region settings can be reconfigured, use of this unit in Australia will be illegal as it won't conform to our channel plan. That would be worth checking.

Also AM/FM frequencies are different in Europe though that may not matter to you.

    • +1

But surely if your wifi router is Australian certified, it doesn't matter what wifi spectrum this unit is capable of using - it will only transmit in the frequencies it can handshake at, which will be the Australian frequencies supported by your existing wifi network.

And even if not, that's a pretty trivial reason to dismiss this obvious bargain. Are you from a competing Denon reseller? Or just not understand how wifi works?

In addition so far as I can tell, this unit supports the full range of am and FM radio stations transmitting in Australia (eg .https://www.acma.gov.au/Industry/Broadcast/Radio/List-of-radio-broadcasters/mf-am-radio-by-frequency-spectrum-for-broadcasters-acma ) From what I can tell western Europe uses identical frequencies and channel spacing to Australia

  • Finally pulled the trigger on this one. Been waiting for a deal like this. pairing it with Klipsch speakers. have to somehow get those for cheap too… anyone had experiences with https://ddavi.com.au??

  • Bought this a month ago - god it's good.

  • Typical, brought the Denon 2400h from a previous deal(https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/372125) , was around $720 on my credit card after conversion. Great unit, didn't realise it does 4k passthrough but no OSD overly on the 4k (2400H model), need at least this model to do those functions. But, its a large unit and only just fits where I put it so this would be a no go for me. Good Deal either way.
