Was looking for the controller and only right is available, but find this discount! Probably not very useful, but it's not bad to keep one in case the battery is gone while racing!
It makes the controller heavier but probably more comfortable.
I actually bought it yesterday, and it came with 4 batteries.
Did you return it due to false advertising ?

Yep. Played all of Odyssey with these and when I went back for Zelda DLC I used them as well. After the initial batteries went flat I took them out and never even bothered replacing them. Joycon's last like 20 hours anyway… It's not like you need the extra battery. But just the grips themselves, at $19 is well worth it. I think I paid $28 was still happy.
Why single joy con for Odyssey? Can you actually play Zelda with single joy con?
They didn't say they used a single joycon.
Odyssey requires the joy-cons to be detached to perform some of the special moves.

Yes, some Panasonic ones included in the box. Pretty sure it's standard?
maybe, though I've never seen a product that required batteries actually including batteries, and the linked product page says (Batteries not included)
