10" Tablet for under $100?

Will be used for Youtube and PDFs only. What is my best bang for buck? Saw this on eBay but have no clue really.

  • 2560 x 1600, 4GB RAM, $100 price tag… Sounds very suspicious. The CPU is also quite old (2013) and is from the same era as Tegra 3, so at least that part is believable.

I wonder if that's actually true or if they tweaked the build.prop file to make the tablet incorrectly report it's specs.

If I were you I'd nose around banggood, gearbest etc

You'll find something around your price with heaps of customer reviews so you'll get a feel for the pros and cons.

Here's one example, it's $117, and from a 'reputable' brand like Teclast.

This was just one search. I'm sure you'll get something under $100 if that's genuinely your ceiling.

    • Thanks but wouldn't look at anything under android 5, also wouldn't pay that much for old refurb.

      Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS

You could try your luck with a more 'known' Chinese brand like Onda or Teclast. Two 10.1" tablets I was looking at personally were the Onda V10 and Teclast X10. They are moderately specc'd 10.1" tablets with 1280x800 resolution going for around $100 on eBay paired with the 5% off coupons. They have an IPS panel (colours and viewing angle will be good) which for me matters more than an absurdly high resolution for general document and video viewing, and good ratings on sites like banggood/geekbuying/etc. For me, after having my HP tablet's charging port die on me, I've been a bit paranoid of tablets in general which seem to have a higher fail rate than the phones I've owned in the past, so I've opted to wait for a good deal on the Lenovo Tab 10 (which has a few bad ratings on Amazon) which at least comes with an aussie warranty. Hope that helps!

I bought a Teclast X80 Pro. It was always crashing. It eventually got stuck in a boot loop and I cracked the screen pulling it apart to remove the battery.

The internal build quality is terrible and the WiFi range was very poor. Think I might hang out for something with an aussie warranty too.

  • Most of the cheapo Chinese tablets use the ipad panel, so they look good.

  • In the same boat need a 8 inch tablet though just for YouTube, emails and web browsing. Maximum budget about $100 AUD so basically anything better than a pendo pad.

The Lenovo deal at $149 AUD delivered is tempting but I'm sure I can do better.

    Open to Windows and Android.

No 10" tabs too big and too bulky 8" max size. 6" smallest size.

  • Still looking and wondering if I should bite the bullet and just go for this one, can't find anything negative about it in the eBay feedback, also checked other listings of the same tablet and everyone seems to it but yeah still seems to good to be true… https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10-1-Inch-Tablet-4-64GB-Android-…

    • If you end up getting this I'll be curious to hear your thoughts.

I've seen this particular model on ebay for ages now but have been hesitant to give it a shot.

      • Yep was going to report back! Will need advice on what to check for scrim mentioned the build.prop file but yeah I don't know. I'm still up in the air about it really hard to dismiss happy eBayers they can't all be tech non-savvy right?

Edit.. On second thought I'm going to pass…

        1) It's obvious this can't be legit, just can't get those specs for that price.
        2) After some more digging I found this and I'm sure it is similar if not same tablet.
