Any option in the $350-400 range?

    • +1

in the $350- 400 range you would get a used 1-2 year old AVR 1300 or there abouts, 6 hdmi inputs instead of 8 and lower wattage but still lots of codecs, internet radio, spotify, etc. as the models go up it’s mainly wattage and inputs . new from amazon you’d need to stretch to the $550 mark.

i mainly go after wattage as i listen to a lot of stereo ….. our inputs used to get used by the dab radio ( notice no dab on the receiver ) android tv box, xbox one, ps4 and nintendo ….now we just have the xbox one.

  • Bought this last time, great amp!

    • i got one of the AVR 1300 series which is a bit small i found from last years deals ….this has more inputs and wattage …..great amp and i’ve had no issues, and was very fast delivery.

once the gst kicks in it will be 10% more after july but somehow even with postage cheaper than in australia ….we really get ripped off with denon amps in australia.

      • Good AVR, I got one from the UK a couple of months ago for $700 delivered.

How are they going to enforce the GST? It's really going to suck for us ozbargainers

  • Bought one, just waiting for delivery!

    • order the AU power cord , normal PC kettle cord, off ebay, while you wait, then ready to go when it arrives, i,like to buy long cords which computer shops usually don’t keep.

      • If you don't mind, please share the Ebay link.

No idea why my links came up as affiliate links but you're looking for "IEC C13 Cable".

I got mine from Jaycar since it was convenient.

I already had around 3 million of these at home when I got my UK model :)

  • Can someone please recommend speakers for these?

    • How long is a piece of string?

      Budget? Use?

      • Budget: ~1000
        Use: Music (Bass and Soundstage)

    • depends on budget and use, i,usually buy 2 good front speakers and centre and use rear speakers from hard waste collection., people are always throwing our rear speakers when they move house, easy in summer, in winter need to get them before it rains.

for surround if not fussed on quality buy a box off speakers of ebay, $300 and 5 large speakers arrive …for stereo ……some small used b&w for $300 and then there is no limit ……used speakers off ebay are the way to go on a budget.

  • Am I missing something? When I click on the link it says that this Item does not ship to Australia?

    • Ignore the warning, I ordered it last time and it says the same thing but it will allow the order to go through.

  • Looking to order one of these. Am I best to pay in AUD? Or Euro? AUD comes out to $655 but not sure what fees are charged or what currency conversion will be used if I pay in Euro. Ordering on Mastercard. Anyone have experience in this?

    • Whoever you think will give you the best exchange rate

  • Great price.

  • i bought mine 4 years ago when it was x2000 best purchase ever you wont be disappointed

  • will the voltage be ok for AU? eg 240 volt?
Also what happens if it arrives damaged or DOA … is there some warranty fron Amazon Germany?
    TIA

    • The voltage is fine - you only need a euro-AU travel adapter, same as the the Dysons I imported from Europe years ago.

  • Thanks OP, bought one even though I shouldn't spend the money. Was looking at upgrading to 4K at the end of the year so this is one piece ticked off the list.

  • Better to pull the trigger now before July 1.

  • I got this recently and I am quite pleased with it, plus the Amazon.de offer is at least AUD$450-500 cheaper than any Australian source, including the 80 euro delivery fee.

You don't need a new cord either, just a travel adaptor for euro-AU plug.

  • Yes I pulled the trigger on this also

  • Has this shipped for anyone yet?

    • Just checked my order. Not shipped as yet. expected delivery June 7th to 14th. Is this normal? this was ordered on the 24th.

      • Mine has not shipped yet. Ordered on the 24/05. I e-mailed customer service a few days ago and they said there is a hold up with the wholesaler but should be shipped soon.

        • Mine arrived this morning. Ordered same day as you so got lucky I guess.

  • Mine shipped, yay.

    • And arrived this morning.

  • Emailed Amazon re item not shipped yet and got an extremely long winded email saying that it couldn’t be shipped to Australia!
    The saga continues.

    • Did you hear anymore from amazon? I am now worried mine will not ship. They did send me an email saying their were no issues with the order and it would be shipped soon.

      • No, Hope springs eternal. Was a holiday here Friday hence no deliveries. I am hoping that the shipping timeline on their website is not up to date and that i will receive mine this week. I also hope that the email about not shipping to Australia was just an observation picked up by a lazy rep. like I said Hope springs eternal.
        Fingers crossed.
BTW my CC shows the amount as Pending.

        • +1

Just got the notification to say mine has shipped and will be here Friday! Was getting very worried as they had removed the pending charge from my CC.

        • @Matleck: They ship fast, even though they come from Italy to Uk to Oz, well at least mine did!

        • @Punkboy: Mine is shipping from Poland. Most have had no stock left and had to find some. Just happy it's coming.

        • @Matleck: I too receive an email (had to translate it) telling me mine is on its way, here monday they say.

  • Got this for EUR 413 (delivered) today.. not too bad… deal still on….
