Fusion Hair and Body AND Judena Taylor Hair and Beauty - VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

MOD: Update — according to an email from Judena Taylor Hairdressing Salon they are now under new management. The new business has simply taken over the name, and had changed location and no longer offers beauty services.

Hi all,

WORD OF WARNING!

I bought a $59 hairdressing/beauty voucher from Spreets back in October 2010. I wanted to use it sometime in the next week because I need to fix up my last shocking haircut from Judena Taylor Hair Salon in Bondi (also another Spreets voucher). My hair is literally uneven from them. Grrrr.

HORROR STORY #1

Anyways, I've just called Fusion Hair and Body to use my voucher, but I have since found out that they won’t be able to book me in until July (when the voucher expires). I have two (2) to use up and I’m not happy to wait until July to use my voucher. I also found the man who answered the phone to be VERY rude. He was talking, asked me a question and then put the phone down and walked away without warning me. He came back to the phone and said he had to walk away because he is ALWAYS repeating himself to Spreets customers. He put the phone down multiple times while I was on the phone without any warning. He also explained that the voucher I have doesn’t say everything the Spreets deal says on the website. For example: my voucher says:

"The Perfect Fusion! $59 Tip to Toe Pampering from Fusion Hair & Body Usually $380 Colour, Style, Cut, Blow-dry, Hair Treatment, Facial, Mini Manicure/Pedicure! Listen to the Universe… "

But the Spreets website deal says:

Highlights:

Do you believe in fate? Because we think The Universe wants you to get pampered. Fusion Hair & Body is offering a full hair-to-toe pamper package valued at $380 for just $59! Colour, cut, style, blow-dry, hair treatment, facial, mini mani/pedi, eyelash tint and eyebrow wax. Amazing! Includes:

  • full permanent colour OR colour + foils OR full head of foils (valued at $140-$170)
  • Style, cut and blow-dry (usually from $75)
  • AlfaParf hair treatment (valued at $30)
  • 30-minute facial (valued at $55)
  • eyelash tint (valued at $20)
  • eyebrow wax (valued at $20)
  • mini manicure OR mini pedicure"

He said he would not be able to honour my voucher to use all the services that I want (what I paid for) because my voucher description missed out on:

  • colour + foils OR full head of foils
  • eyelash tint (valued at $20)
  • eyebrow wax (valued at $20)

He was ready to book me in the next few days until I said I had a Spreets voucher. That’s when he said not till July.. which is crazy! I do not want to give my business to Fusion Hair and body as they seem to not want the customers and have VERY poor customer service. I do not want someone who cannot talk to a customer over the phone nicely touching my hair. There is no trust. And this is just over the phone.. imagine if I actually got in there and used the voucher???!!!!!!!

HORROR STORY #2

My last voucher (as mentioned above) was from Judena Taylor Hair Salon in Bondi. It got me: half a head of foils, hair cut, blow dry, hair style, manicure and napoleon makeup session. Before actually going to this hair salon, I rang up and asked for a quote on how much it would be to get half a head of foils and the rest of my hair coloured. They said it would be no more than $30.

When I got in there and asked for this, it was going to be $55! They said I don’t know who told you that, but it’s not. I ended up giving in and getting it done. I told them I wanted it to be dark with some light foils. Once my hair was dry, I noticed my hair colour was really no different to what I walked in with. I was so angry! I didn’t feel fresh at all. They said don’t worry about the $55 this time.. which was the least they could do since it didn’t even look different.

Their idea of a manicure was painting nail polish on the nails.. no buffering, no cleaning, nothing! I could have painted my nails myself.. plus it was a real ugly colour! The makeup was meant to be done with Napoleon products, but instead, it was done with a brand that was unknown! Definitely was not Napoleon Perdis.

My hair cut was shocking.. I mainly notice it when I’m showering as my left side seems to be longer than my right side. Its literally about a centimetre or so difference.. it’s ridiculous. I asked my hair to be styled in curls.. they did a real cheap bodgie job with some curlers. I walked out and my hair looked like it hadn’t even been curled.

When I left the salon to go shopping (just before going to a uni ball), I was told by someone that I had hair dye on my face (even though I had makeup on the top). I couldn’t clean the hair dye off without ruining my makeup, so I had to go back. I had no choice! I was fuming.

Worst experiences! Just a word of warning! I really hope I’ve done enough to make sure these business’ do not get any ozbargain customers!

  • Firstly the fact that you were not able to properly book in was basically Spreets and the business's fault due to the fact that demand was greater than stock.

Your bad experiences with the 2 businesses, i will layout whose at fault

Fusion Hair and Body=Fusion Judena Taylor Hair Salon=JT Spreets=Spreets
    -Bad Customer Service=Fusion and JT
    -Bad Service=Fusion and JT
-Not mentional the 'whole' package=Creator of voucher(either Fusion or Spreets)
-Not getting what you paid for= Fusion, JT and Spreets

    My opinion

Honestly, IMO, i am not willing to buy/use any group buy services(and i never have) due to the fact that most business are not willing to co-operate with you ideally
e.g. Cupcake sale(demand greater than stock), Dining business(wait a long time[say a few months]but by then voucher is expired, Strike Bowling(again, demand greater than stock)etc
Although, people have successfully used the group vouchers hassle free

    • Im trying to get hold of spreets, but they are quite hard to contact. I've had to ask them for my referral credit before at least 4 times before they gave it to me. Replies from spreets usually take days.

        Hi Kimba88,

Firstly we would like to apologise to you for the experience you had with two of Spreets deals. It is a great shame when our users have anything other than a great time when redeeming our deals.
I have seen further down the thread that the situation for both providers has now been resolved which we are pleased about.

We are always unhappy to hear when a business does not live up to their commitment to us and our users and we will always aim to rectify any situation that falls below expectations.

In the case of Fusion Beauty, as time went on, we began to receive a large number of complaints about the quality of service and attitude toward Spreets customers. As a result we pulled the deal and credited all users who purchased the deal to avoid any more disappointed Spreeters.

Further down this thread another user mentions that as our voucher did not include all of the advertised products on the deal page, Fusion were not obliged to honour the full deal. We would like to point out that we have legally binding contracts with all of our deal providers which dictate the services they must provide. The voucher is just the medium which users can use to redeem. It is actually possible to only redeem with your voucher number and PIN number as the business has a copy of these items.

We always aim to improve with every mistake and these two are no exception. As a result we now spend more time vetting businesses that are interested in running a deal with us and reject more deals than ever. As a rough rule of thumb, fewer than 5% of businesses that get in touch are successful in running a deal.

Please keep in touch and let us know if you have any future problems.

        Kind regards,
        Jamie

        • Thank you Spreets. I also asked for my sister to be credited for her voucher. Someone from Spreets got back to me today (two weeks after I sent the email, even though I received an automated response saying I'll get a reply within 1-2 days), saying it has been credited, but she is yet to receive the money in her bank account. She'll keep an eye out for it over the next 24-48hrs though.

I do thank you for fixing this problem, but please do not have any more deals from Fusion. Can I please also suggest to either change the Spreets automated email response or please aim to reply within the time period stated. Two weeks waiting for a reply is a long time.

          Thank you once again.

P.s. Judena Taylor is also not worthy doing business with again. My hair is still horrible from that experience and they also did not honour their voucher properly. Please take this up with them also.

        • Hi Kimba88,

We can confirm that we will definitely will not be running the Fusion deal again.

If you have not yet lodged an official complaint regarding Judena Taylor Hair and Beauty, please do so on [email protected] and the team will be more than happy to follow this up for you.

          Kind regards,
          Jamie

        • I have mentioned my problems with Judena Taylor to Spreets before, but the main focus was on Fusion since I have already used my Judena Taylor voucher. Im curious to know if anything can actually be done even after using the voucher? Their customer service was pathetic. They left me with an uneven hair cut, hair dye all over my face and not honouring their makeup or manicure deal. Id also wish that Judena Taylor will not be dealt with again through Spreets.

I do thank you for your replies.

        • Hi Kimba88,

We are always willing to follow a complaint both before and after a voucher has been used.

That said we do need a specific support request on it so we can speak to the business on your behalf.

We think it is important to protect our users from businesses providing less than acceptable service to Spreets customers with no come back.

          Regards,
          Jamie

        • +1

Thats always good to know. With that being said, my voucher was used at the very end of october, does that matter or has that been left a little too late? In the mean time, i've just been giving bad word of mouth about Judena Taylor.

        • Hi,

I am not on the support team but let them know the background and that I asked you to drop them a line.

          Thanks,
          Jamie

        • I posted two comments, 1 states:
"Blah Blah 3 hours 24 min ago Comment unpublished. (Trolling and not offering anything to the conversation)" there other doesn't even show or that its even been deleted.

  • At that point, i would book what I was entitled to, then when it comes time to pay, give him the voucher then walk out.

They will have to sue you for it, and they won't win.

But more realistically, just do a credit card chargeback and call the ACCC.

    • How can you book what you are entitled to if they wont give it? They know its a Spreets voucher.. even if they dont ask. So are you saying to book in and say i dont have a voucher? Then when they total it all up, hand over the voucher and walk out? The guy kept telling me he was fully booked out (even though i am pretty sure he was going to book me in th next couple of days if i didnt have a spreets voucher). Either way, i dont want to go there now knowing what they are like over the phone. The guy was very immature and ended up telling me to go chase a refund. I guess thats what they want.. spreets to refund some vouchers so they have less work but happier customers? Im just hoping i've done enough, for people to help spread the word around.

I've also complained about Judena Taylor on WOMOW (word of mouth on the web). Im pretty sure i cant do anything about my shocking treatment from back in late October now.. but it still annoys me that my hair looks the same as what i walked in with. Not to mention they charge $17 for an eyebrow wax!! That wasnt on the voucher, so i had to pay for that one unfortunately. Wish i didnt.

      • +1

Yes that is what I'm suggesting, and it is what I would do for anyone being difficult in redeeming something I paid for and am entitled to.

Think about it: Its not like you are ordering a pizza then shoving a voucher in their face, as like everyone here knows, not all vouchers are valid for all stores etc.

These vouchers SPECIFICALLY say what you get, which store etc.

Whatever you do, don't give in, in Australia customers can always get what they have paid for, and if not, a refund.

        • But, one of the problems i have is Spreets have not put on their vouchers exactly what it states on their website. Hence, Fusion have decided to not honour the website, but only what your coupon states. Not to mention they have picked and chosen times and dates when you can go in (which obviously wasnt stated on the deal)

Judena sort of honoured the voucher, but only to an extent. They did everything bodgie.. EVERYTHING!

    • Sweet! The list is building quite fast!

    • +2

Wouldn't naming and shaming the actual business be good too?

      • +5

        done

        • Cool!, its great because it gives everyone the ability to avoid those business's. :)

        • How come you've listed Judena Taylor as bought from ouffer? It was spreets. Plus i had my problems back in october last year with them ;-)

        • ahhh i thought it was this deal sorry

EDIT: i placed the date of the complaint for most. Just because sometimes they wernet deals posted on ozb

  • Whatever you do, don’t give in, in Australia customers can always get what they have paid for, and if not, a refund.

Agreed. If they do want to impost booking limits on voucher customers, IMHO they must at least mention this in the voucher T&Cs, i.e. bookings must be made ___ weeks/days in advance.

kimba88, why not try calling them again and book for a session as a full paying customer? Ask as many questions as you can, like if they're fully booked next week, etc. If you manage to get a booking, then either

    (a) call them and try to re-book using the voucher. If they refuse, mention about the 'friend' booking earlier sessions previously. See what they have to say.
    (b) email spreets and demand a refund, since this limitation was not mentioned at the time you purchased the voucher.

  • I have an awesome idea.

Get a friend to book a regular session.

Call up, get told there are no sessions available, then say your friend is letting you take their spot, and put them on.

Or better yet, get your friend to call up and cancel. Then call up straight after and say I am making a booking for THIS time, if they say its not available, tell them that your friend called up 5 seconds ago and canceled it so it IS available :)

If they refuse, tell the ACCC

Also, if the last day the voucher is available is the 20th, and you try to book on the 19th, then you need to be provided with what you paid for unless the voucher says you need to book X days in ahead.

If you want revenge, go to Whirlpool and make a topic with their business name and "bad service" etc. It will go very high in Google Search, and everyone will see it :)

    • Lol, thats similar to what pauly suggested i think ;-) They are both good ideas but yeah, i dont think i could be bothered wasting my breath on them. If anybody else would like to try and make a regular appointment and then cancel, by all means, go and do it and report back to me. I'd love to hear your response (im pretty sure you'll be able to get in easy. lol)

Honestly, i would've loved to have used this voucher, but with the service i received today over the phone.. i dont want them touching my hair. When i first bought the voucher i called them to see what sort of availibility they had and the lady was rude to me then. But today really topped it off. The guy raised his voice over the phone, put the phone down and walked away 2-3 times without any warning (one of the times he came back and told me he had to walk away because he keeps getting asked the same questions), wouldnt answer my questions appropriately and kept telling me he was sounding like a broken record, etc. It was just plain rude. He also kept asking and rushing me rudely whether i wanted to book in july or not.. of course i cannot gage whether i'll be wanting a haircut then. I want one soonish. He kept saying i need to go, i have clients and you are wasting my time asking the same questions (which was whether i could get in earlier than july, why they wont honour my deal bought, etc). pffftt.. they really arent worth it.

      • +1

my idea was inspired from pauly :)

Just make sure you get your money back, I agree I wouldn't want them to touch my hair either.

        • nice referencing =P

    • i like your whirlpool idea though ;-)
ive googled judena taylor and Fusion hair and body.. and this thread makes the first google page!!!! Not high up, but its still the first page nonetheless ;-)

      • of course
judena taylor and Fusion hair and body
will make google top searches because they are 2 businesses in one search, unless you name each business separately it would differ, it still makes first page though

        • Sorry, i did mean tye the business names in seperately. lol. i forgot what i had name this thread. hehehe

    • +1

Now i've got a good idea!!! How bout we all call up and make regular appointments.. then not show up!! Then they'll need extra staff on expecting all these extra customers that dont show. YEAH.. karmas a b*tch Fusion! =P

      • Amusing, but not a good idea considering judena taylor are a small business and their public email is a "@live.com.au" email. I wouldn't be surprised if they made this spreets deal as much needed publicity.

I also just noticed their website is using a free website template.

If you want to be fair:
        Leave your reviews on truelocal.com.au

        Post on Whirlpool

Call the ACCC and lodge a complaint

        • Wait, are we talking about judena taylor or fusion here?
Lets recap, I went to judena taylor in october.. they ruined my hair.
Today i called Fusion, very bad customer service..

Fusion are the ones i need 2 x voucher refunds ($59 each). I referred my sister to also get this deal, she'll also be needing a refund. Judena i got ripped off since my hair has already been done and i wasnt satisfied at all in october. I walked out of the salon and teared up.. tried holding it back so the makeup didnt run, but then found out i had dye all over my face anyway.

dont you need to become a member of truelocal to make reviews?

        • Ah sorry, I just googled one of the business names in the title and went to their website :)

Whats wrong with becoming a member? Just give an honest review

Also even so, both business's seem to be very small, I don't think making fake bookings is very nice as it could literally make them unable to afford rent or something.

        • +1

          Lol. Now that makes sense.

I just didnt want to join up to another site that could potentially spam me. As i said, i have put the complaint for Judena Taylor on WOMOW. I put my reviews on there when WOMOW have their free $20 Westfield gift card promotions going. That way i get something out of it =P

        • @ kimba88
          Lol
          that's the ozbargain sense
"I put my reviews on there when WOMOW have their free $20 Westfield gift card promotions going. That way i get something out of it =P"

  • +2

    those idea sounds like this
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36664

  • Sorry for the separate post but I thought I would make something clear:

The page says "Bookings essential". So yes, book it, but don't say anything

    It also says "Vouchers redeemable 10-8pm (Mon-Fri) 9-pm (Sat-Sun)"

So you need to book in those times for your voucher to be valid.

There is NOTHING valid they can say when you hand them the voucher and walk out.

If the page said that the voucher was only valid if you mention it when booking, then they might have a point, even then the ACCC wouldn't care.

    • Im really not sure if its worth even going there. Im currently waiting for Spreets' response to the email i sent earlier. Lets see how long it takes them to fix this one up. It took them 2-3months to give me $10 referral credit for referring my sister.. only after multiple emails.

      • Probably not, but useful for any future purchases with similar terms.

  • +1

So i have my reply from Spreets already.. im pretty impressed considering it took ages to contact someone from Spreets chasing referral credit. Here it is:

"Hi, Please accept our apology for the confusion and we thank you for your patience. I have just processed your refund, and you should see the money credited to your account within a few working days. Please let me know if you have any further issues at all."

So i'll be keeping an eye out for the money to reappear in my account. It'll be like pay day again since i bought two of those vouchers!

    • haha that's great

    • Good on you re: refund.

The more naming and shaming of these STUPID businesses, the better.

  • And now i can also confirm that the refund has now hit my bank account.. that was quick!! Good to know Spreets did exactly what i wanted as quickly as they could.

    • that's good,
      glad you got the refund

      • +1

yeah, just need to chase up the same thing for my sister now. She doesnt have access to a computer at the moment.

  • +2

I have had the same experience with Fusion/Spreets. They have no intention of honouring the vouchers and seem to be hell bent on providing as little as possible in the most rude way they can. They refused to give me colour and foils insisting that it was Spreets that advertised that offer, not them! Go figure!

I bought this deal in October and could not get an appointment until January, and then they didn't have time to do the beauty treatments. Unfortunately I bought two vouchers so will be trying to get a refund from Spreets for the unused one and reporting them to ACCC for misleading advertising. Stay well away from Fusion!

    • refund from Spreets

i'll do that if i were in your situation

      reporting them to ACCC

      who? Spreets or the Fusion?
idk, but just report both as they are related to each other

  • My experience with Spreets has been very painful, I contacted them a week ago with at least 3 emails plus their forums and no one has replied.

    • Hang in there. They usually take 2weeks minimum to reply :-/

      • They just got back to me and solved my issue.

        • +1

Lucky. I'll keep waiting for my reply..

      • Hi kimba88,

The support team is yet to receive any contact from you since our last correspondence. If you have any outstanding issues please let the team know so that we can look to resolve these for you. We aim to resolve all customer issues within 1-2 working days.

        Regards,
        Spreets Team

        • Hi,

My email i sent was about Judena Taylor as you said to notify the Spreets Support team about my issues. I sent it on the 2/2/11. I'll copy and paste it and send it again.

          Thanks.

        • Wow! I've now already received a response to my copy and pasted email. I've noticed email layouts are now different with 'tickets' (if you email Spreets, you'll know what im talking about).

The end result.. i couldnt be happier with the resolution! Absolutely amazing customer service. I will definitely be shopping with Spreets again. After those two exeperiences (Judena Taylor and Fusion), Spreets almost lost me. But after the service i have received with a snappy refund and a great resolution, i definitely have no issues buying from Spreets knowing how much they value their customers.

Thankyou so much Spreets Sydney for all your help!

  • Have had a similar problem with Spreets… I would not go near this company with a 5 foot pole.

My partner opened an account with them to use a Zenith Keratian Treatment.. Purchased this back in October 2010 but still to this day we have not been able to use the voucher. They are booked for the next 6 months. What a joke. If you try and book in anything else they can book you in right away but as soon as you say voucher hair treatment.. "oh we are booked full for the next 6 months". Funny thing is Spreets are still having deals with this company. Its such a rip off taking peoples money but not providing the service you said could be used on the voucher.

Then to make matters worst my credit card was used on someone elses account with spreets. Spreets have taken over $200 out of my credit card and not returned it. I have gotten a charge back on the 1st two payments then they took another $100 payment out of my credit card. To fix the problem Spreets cannot be contacted the only way to fix it is to cancel the credit card and go through all the problems of having to do that. With the charge back spreets claim they are legit debits to my credit card company..

To avoid all these hassles just don't ever use SPREETS they are a RIPPPP OFFFF!!!!

    • Not sure I understand warnoss.

You charged back $200 that Spreets charged you and Spreets claim they are legit? What did they charge you for? Is there anything in your Spreets account that says what you purchased?

Is this the deal you are referring to? http://spreets.com.au/deal/Sydney/day-spa-and-beauty/729/smo…

FYI - I called up Fusion yesterday to make an appointment & they have closed down. I called the shopping center were they are located & they said they haven't been there for a week.

I've emailed Spreets to get a refund & just waiting for a reply now.

  • So, after Fusion was officially closed down, Spreets emailed everyone who bought the voucher/s and told them of the closure. Spreets also said that they would be crediting everybody back. I checked my Spreets account today and saw that they had credited my two vouchers I bought ($118). Although, I was refunded my money back in January after complaining on here. When I saw the extra $118 in spreets credits, I thought SCORE! Although, honesty got the better of me so I told them I had already been refunded. They replied with a thanks for being so honest and took away every dollar of extra spreets credits in my account.

Has anyone else bought this deal and received a refund to the bank and also spreets credits? I assume there would be some people who have received both without realising it. Sometimes, it would be nice if honesty was rewarded in only the smallest way.

    • at least it was a good outcome(for you that is)
(i think) many business on group deal websites are struggling websites mainly doing it for promotional purposes

  • -2

I have had a Fantasic experience with my spreets voucher today at Judena Taylor, i just thought i would share 1 other voucher holders opinion.

I did pay $55 extra because i got a colour as well as foils and the girl explained to me i had a lot of hair which i had no problem with.
The result was so nice and natural and she managed to do it without drying out my hair!

My manicure was excellent ! file buff polish the works and my makeup looked perfect for my lunch date.

All the girls are friendly and experienced i will definately be purchasing more spreets vouchers they really are great value for money.

Mod: Sockpuppeted Comment: This comment was made by a person affiliated with the business.

    • Wow! That shocks me! Glad you got what you paid for! Maybe Spreets took on the complaint and passed it onto Judena Taylor?? Who knows.. I wont be back to Judena though.. but i'll definitely be purchasing more vouchers off Spreets after my positive customer service experience.
