  • Instore only, it looks like

  • How is this vs the Instax 8, which has a huge discount recently in Target?

  • Great price but strewth, it costs $28 just for 10 photos!

    • Instax mini film is the same but cheaper and more readily available.

    Pricehipster was born to keep track of Polaroid cameras

  • view them instantly on business card sized film.

    I have a mobile phone that will take infinitely better quality photos than this, and I can view them instantly on a screen about 3 times larger than this POS.

    Price… free.

  • I remember OzBargaining the bundle pack from officeworks for $38 2 years ago.

    Polaroid 300 is the name given to Fujifilm Instax Mini film which as been rebranded by Polaroid, under license by Fujifilm. The Polaroid PIC 300 camera is the name given to the discontinued Fujifilm Instax Mini 7s which was also rebranded by Polaroid under license by Fujifilm.

    So regardless of if you’re asking about the film or the camera, they are actually Fuji products and are no different, just different labeling. Fuji no longer makes the Mini 7s under its name but has upgraded to the Fuji Instax Mini 8 which is a very similar camera but also features a rudimentary light meter. Like the Polaroid PIC 300/Fuji Instax Mini 7s, the Fuji Instax Mini 8 is one of the few manual exposure Instax cameras and both cameras are among the cheapest, usually costing around $60 USD.

    In many cases, the Polaroid branded products cost more than the Fuji. Typically a 10 shot pack of Polaroid 300 film sells for about the same price as a 20 shot pack of Fuji Instax Mini.

    Leica now has their own line of Instax film and an Instax camera. Both the film and camera are called Leica Sofort. The camera is a modified copy of the Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 and the film is the same Fuji Instax Mini film but with off white colored borders.

    The only Fuji Instax cameras that are not actually made by Fuji are those made by Lomography and Mint.

    • what's the diff between the 7 and 8 then?

      • +1

        7 vs 8
        * 2 vs 4 batteries
        * 1 button moved

        8 vs 9
        * selfie mirror added to 9

        • Doesn't that make the 4 batteries a con for the 8 if that really is the main difference? Location of the other button doesn't really matter.

        • +1

          @CVonC: There you go my friend and 8 vs 9

          Essentially from 7 to 9 nothing changed but branding.
