iPhone X (AU Stock) 64GB $1449, 256GB $1629 @ Mymobile (Officeworks 5% Price Beat While Stock Lasts)

280

This is the 1st time I post here, please let me know if anything needs update. Thanks!

mymobile has 8% off for iPhone X 64G and 11% off for iPhone X 256G, with free delivery to AU wide.

While their stock last, you may achieve a 5% price beat @ officeworks which makes:

  • Iphone X 64gb $1376.55
  • Iphone X 256gb $1547.55

Probably need to find out if in stock first. I got mine in the North Sydney shop.

And it is AU stock and eligible for TRS, which makes the price even better if you have plan to go aboard.
Please read dyl's comments about this.

edit: updated the typo, oops…

    Wouldn't TRS require fraud?

It's over $900, so if you claimed it outbound you would have to pay tax again in bound…?

      yes.

        Just for those still unsure…

If you are aged 18 years or over, you can bring up to AUD 900 worth of goods into Australia duty-free, or AUD 450 if you are younger than 18. Families travelling together can pool this allowance (a couple with one child can bring in a total of AUD 900 + AUD 900 + AUD 450 = AUD 2250 worth of goods into Australia without paying duty or GST). This is called your passenger concession.

If the total value of the goods you are bringing into Australia that you purchased overseas or for which you have claimed a refund under TRS is greater than your passenger concession:

        • You must declare all of their goods
        • You will need to repay the GST refund back on the goods you claimed under the TRS
        • Duty and GST will apply to all items purchased, not just goods over the limit of your passenger concession.

If there's two or more passengers it's technically possible… Otherwise it is indeed fraud.

Yes if you are a lone traveller.

However families can pool together their TRS quota.

    • It depends on how long you're out of the country. You can apply a reasonable amount of depreciation.

      • They're apparently quite stringy with their depreciation calculations, would be surprised to see anything over 10-20%. Depreciation will allow you to get it back in when travelling with one child.

It's worth a shot - just declare it all honestly. Worst case you'll have to pay GST again and be back to square A, but more than likely they'll make you pay GST on a depreciated amount, saving you ~1-2%.

  • Great post. Thanks

  • I had no idea they released a 128GB iPhone X. Until I opened this post.

  • Sweet deal. Price matched at OW for 256 GB + TRS in a month.

    • Hi, would you be able to upload or PM me a photo of the receipt? Officeworks didn't want to price match me yesterday :(

      • I just got OW to pricematch -5%. Pitt St store in Sydney. I can give you a copy of my receipt if you message me. I’ll have to edit it when I get home then I can send it to you.

      • Over the phon they were fine but instore they played hard ball with my uncle who I sent there. Managed to convince the manager it was AU stock with AU warranty. Uncle picked up the 64gb for $1376 at Officeworks Stuart Park Darwin.

        • Same thing happened to me except they said its imported stock so wont let me price match. They wouldnt let me price match dick smith for the same reaspn. So what will they price match? Just apple?

  • Looks like LG G7 XDD.

  • Guys, just tried to price match ow. They wont let me. Said its imported stocks. Same with price matching dick smith…
    Ideas?
Buying this for my sister birthday…

    • It's definitely Australian stock, their store is in Adelaide street, Brisbane CBD, I'd go back and tell them or try their Head Office phone number to price match, it's within their policy.
