This is the first time I've seen a 3440x1440 Ultrawide G-Sync monitor under $1000. VA panel rather than IPS, so less backlight bleed.

  • Great price! If you've not used one of these panels it would be worth seeing VA side by side to an IPS in a store. I found the colour and pixel blur to be a bit of a letdown, whereas a lot of people prefer the VA's blacks.

    • what about OLED?

So which panels are good for gaming and movies?

      • Games and movies are 2 different beasts, the best TVs for movies are horrible for games because of input lag. The lowest input lag monitors sacrifice a lot in the visuals department.

I would recommend comparing with the x34 which is considered superior by all accounts i've read.

    • Depends what you want really. Buying an X34 is more of a lottery with the backlight bleed. Plus the AOC has a much more pronounced curve to it that brings up the immersion level. The AOC isn't going to cut it though if you want an IPS panel.

Great deal. If I hadn't been burgled last weekend and lost a lot of valuable stuff I have to replace now, is probably but it. I've wanted a 34 inch ultrawide 1440p gsync monitor for ages.
