Logix Platinum Dishwashing Tablets 60 Pack $9.99 (02 June) @ ALDI

90

Noticed these are on special buy starting 2 June. Works out to be 16.65 cents per tablet; a great price for a dishwashing tablet that really does the job.

I really don't understand the hype behind dishwasher tablets, as powder is cheaper and as efficient (in my experience), so it seems it comes down to more of a convenience.

i used to think the same & we were given a box of aldi ones and they did appear to clean better then the powder (i.e. we didn't too many post wash dirty plates - mostly pasta bowls with sauce stuck to them). Then I tried Costco ones & they were good, then I was given a box of Finish Powerball All In One and they really are great,

      • I've just switched from Aldi tablets to Coles homebrand dishwasher powder which costs $2 a box. It seems to wash just as well. Although I am using a Miele, so maybe its more about the quality of the dishwasher.

      • Can I blow your mind? The cheap Costco Kirkland tablets are just dissolveable bags of powder

    • I'm not even sure how it's convenient - the hassle of removing the little plastic packaging for some brands, or having all the dissolvable once stick together because you got it a little damp AND the sporadic one that doesn't dissolve completely… ick.

The partner loves the tablets though - because she's scared of spilling and breathing in the powder!

        • That's nothing to do with convenience.
Having 5 dissolvable tablets stuck together, then having the highly concentrated detergent spill out over your hand cause you've ripped it pulling the stuck mess apart - now that's inconvenient.

        • @Jikx:

That's nothing to do with convenience.

If tablets aren't convenient, then what are they and why does anyone use them at all?

    do they have desovable packaging?

    • +1

From memory the bulk ones didn't, which turned me against using them.

As per the first post, I'm tempted to go back to powder after my box is finished.

Disolvable packaging still means more unnecessary packaging for no gain - I'm trying to cut down my environmental impact and tablets don't wash any better than powder…

      • Good for you! Alas more often then not, if the dishwasher is put on by the kids or missus, they forgot to take the wrappers off and wondered what that glob of plastic is sitting amongst the dirty dishes.

      Yes, they do.

  • All my platinumware đź‘‘ is handwashed with VB

  • The cheaper ALDI tablets scores higher suprisingly.

    • Why surprised? Surely you don’t subscribe to the idea that more expensive is ALWAYS better
There are some people who actually believe this - and you’ll never see them at Aldi.

      • If choice didn't do a comparison between the two, I would've believed that it was a better product. It's not different brands.

Sorry, doh! You’re comparing Aldi tablets with Aldi powder. It’s hard to work out what works best in our house as the wife treats our dishwasher like a food disposal unit despite my attempted guidance. The cleaning product has little chance.

        • @Lps: it's not powder. They're both tablets. Here's the other one
