then it's not a freebie, it requires a fuel purchase
No it doesn't.
If you lock in a fuel price (note: lock in, not lock in and use) in any given month, you will get a free coffee next month which also doesn't require any other purchase.
You have to buy a 7-11 gift card to lock in. But the fuel deals are great anyway.
Have been getting free coffee offer for months after I locked in & bought fuel only once.
On a related note, they have refreshed all of the offers in the app :)

Is this really a deal? I get the free coffee every month (when I've locked in fuel) so its not like it comes around once or twice a year. It should probably be moved the the long running deals section.

Also not sure why this always gets marked as targeted when anyone can obtain the deal. The freebie tag also got removed, yes technically not a freebie because you need to load money into the app but it's not like you need to spend it, can just sit there while you obtain free coffees.

Seems they've caught onto me (and I'm sure many others) going into 7/11 to only get the free iced coffee/coffee melt and walk out.. hence why you now need to lock in fuel to get freebies, haha.
Thought they'd have to catch on sometime.. might just lock in fuel and not use it.
