Hisense Series 7 TV's Disappearing, What's The Next Best Thing?

Hello everyone,

I've had my eye on the Hisense 65n7 tv for a while since it seemed like a good TV at a great price point. Unfortunately it looks like these tv's are disappearing from jb hi-fi and they're bringing in a new line of hisense TV's which are a bit more expensive. If I can't get my hands on a 65n7, are there any other TV's at a similar price point and quality?

My wants for a TV are:

65 inches
4k
relatively low input lag (but not totally necessary, just not awful)

Thanks,

  • Go to the whirlpool.net.au TV forum and have a read.

  • All the TV sales in the past couple of months are to get rid of 2017 models like the N7 series, Sony X8500e, Samsung MU7000. Seems like all major retailers have gotten rid of those models (65n7 is hardly available anywhere let along at sale price), it would be hard to see them on sale again IMO.

  • Thanks, I've have a bit of a look around and it seems you can still find the 65n7 on places like videopro. If I can't get that one I might get the TCL 65p20US since it seems to be a bit similar, but slightly worse.

I got a 60P20US a couple of months ago. I'd strongly recommend checking one out in store first if you can. I've found the blacks to be pretty crushed in dark scenes, losing a lot of detail. Looks great with bright 4K footage (nature docos, demo reels etc). Only other thing is if using in-tv apps like netflix or plex you can't adjust picture settings so far as I can tell.

      • Thanks for the tip, if I find myself looking for one I'll try and see as many demo's as I can.

How does it go with playing games? What's the input lag like (how long does it take to press a button and for it to register that something happened on the screen?), and does it have a 'pc' or 'game' mode?

I haven't noticed any input lag but I've only been playing Horizon and God of War since getting it, not fast pace shooters.
It has a game mode but I haven't tried to do any comparisons of lag etc.

      • How do you find normal tv? Or SD Foxtel for that matter, if you happen to have it?
Interested in this series tv, though likely the 55"

        • SD Free-to-air looks fine, but I've probably only watched a couple of news broadcasts in the last few months, no sport.
I'm finding casual watching with lights on is ok, but when you are actively paying attention to something that should look good I start to notice the problems or if the room is dark-ish. Viewing angle is pretty bad in low light too.

Not sure what state you're in, but JB still have some 65N7s in NSW at their distribution centre, though they aren't getting any more. I just bought one for my parents yesterday at $1350 (ticketed $1496) + delivery. I ordered at JB Home Westfield Sydney.

As for similar alternatives at a similar price, for that you might just have to wait for prices to come down on 2018 models.
