  • I'm very confused with all the pod systems.
Is Espressotoria Vittoria Espresso Packs the same as the normal expresso system?

    • Espressotoria machines have their own proprietary pod system. Only Vittoria Espressotoria pods or Caffe Aurora pods work with it.

    • +1

no, this model is uniquely special so if none of their pod style fits you, gg, better get to try first

  • Tap tap tap tap tap

Just checked on Pricehipster. On a good days these pod packs are $3.50 each for 12. Bringing it to JUST over 29c even!

Making these some of the cheapest pods possible. If you bought this machine now (say for an office situation) and absolutely destroyed the pod section when these are on special, I'd rate this deal almost subzero on the 'cool wall'!

I am not a fan of the Espressotoria pods (I bought a multi-pod machine) but coffee is coffee!

    • +3

Same with "not a fan of the Espressotoria pods". I got the maker free with the pods when Coles had the deal. Ended up returning them as they are too weak even with the strongest ones. I came back to the MAP system.

      • I just wasn't a fan of the variety, I liked the coffee.

      • You can use two pods if one isn't strong enough (if you usually have it with milk)

      • same here, i ve tried their strongest one and still not satisfied, have to put two pods for one coffee, not sure if it is marketing strategy but not using it anymore, pods consumed very fast

    • Trouble is on regular days these pods are some of the most expensive, usually around $9 a box of 12. Regular days far outnumber specials.

In general when they're "on special" at Coles or Woolies, they're around $4-6.

  • +1

They can barely give these away.

    • Why ? Is there something crappy about them in particular?

      • +1

Naa, they give the machines away and make money from the pods you buy (I assume)…

In some parts of Europe it's standard to get free machines if you buy X pods per month - everyone seemed to have a coffee machine at their desk.

And it works - I got one of these about 3 years ago for $49 including 6 * packets of pods- must have spent hundreds and hundreds on pods ever since!

  • Lol @ the RRP. Nobody has ever paid anything near that for one of these.

  • Anyone confirm if this is also in Sydney. NSW?

  • That's great value. I use one of these at work and the coffee comes out fine. It's not going to replace your local hipster cafe but craps all over instant coffee :) Mountain grown or Italian are my pick.

  • If anyone is in Wollongong area, Thirroul IGA had this deal a while ago. Probably have it again.
Seems like great deal, Though I have a proper cappuccino machine (non-pod) that I dont use.
I guess the pod machines are more convenient and less cleaning (hopefully). I never really got into using my full size machine, as its too much hassle just for 1 person, 1 cup coffee.

  • Good deal as a second machine for a holiday house or something like that

  • I adjusted my coffee drinking for this deal last time. The pods are pretty weak but now I just drink it espresso and it's great for the price. Italian Blend is my favourite, served black. Hopefully I can get this one for the office.

  • great coffee if you like espresso, same deal in wooli and coles before.
