50% off a DS3 ($49) When You Buy LittleBigPlanet 2 ($109) @ EB Games

30

Basically all said in the title. Limit of one controller, any available colour instore, I confirmed it's nationwide. Price seems to vary on lbp2, was 109 instore and 108 on the website.

There didn't seem to be mention of the deal on the website (though I only skimmed it) so it's probably in person only. I have a pic of the instore poster that I can upload when I'm home (on iPhone ATM).

Yeah I realize it's EB original prices, but 150ish for a prime new release and controller seems pretty good for a local store, especially if you have some vouchers.

Think that's all, enjoy (:

EDIT: also worth noting, a pre order of lbp2 at EB games got you a 6.5in plushie sackboy. The game has already been released today, but you could possibly get it if you asked nicely :P

Would you be able to pricematch LB2 elsewhere?

:edit: You can get a new Dual Shock 3 controller from OzGameShop for $59.00 if you're so inclined, as well as Little Big Planet 2 for $62.99. (Note that these would be UK versions)

This deal would probably be worth it if you could pricematch another local store that generally has prices better than RRP, such as Big W.

    • Oh nice! Think I'll be getting the game from jb anyway (have many vouchers)

    • If you're wary of buying overseas and want to buy locally and still take advantage of the 50% off controller deal, JB Hi Fi have LBP2 for $83.

      http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/little-big-planet-2/

Assuming you can price match JB Hi Fi, that's roughly around $133 for the lot. Of course you can probably get cheaper from the UK.

  • Maybe I'm too old for these type of entertainment.. but what is DS3?

    • Took me a second too, but it means "Dual Shock 3", which is the offical PS3 controller.

    • Oh sorry, dualshock 3 controller, a playstation 3 console controller.

  • $109 for a game….. Prices are really getting ridiculous.

    • They've been this expensive RRP since the 360 was released. Only the 'real' value of them is much, much less than advertised, and people who buy at full retail price are generally only suckered in by places such as EB Games. You can always get them much cheaper looking elsewhere or even asking, particularly from JBHifi/BigW and others.

      • Wow, really?? I don't have a 360 or PS3, so I never noticed the RRP.. I'd never pay over $100 for a GAME! That technically you never "own" either. :P

paid $118 for zelda 2 on the NES 19 years ago…..

  • Lol. I originally thought that referred to the 3D Nintendo DS due out soon. that will be the 3DS. What a bargain I thought.

Re game prices too. I purchased black ops for $89 from EB Games under a price match, and have definitely got our monies worth…. have played over 192 hours online so far (gotta love holidays….), so that works out to less than 50c an hour so far. Could easily go through $50 at Timezone in an hour. Over the next few months that price per hour will diminish…. so for some games I have no probs paying that price.

    • LOL I thought the same thing for a moment (about the 3DS) - now that would have been a real bargain!

  • Tried getting one of those plush toys when I bought the game today, they said they really didn't have many of them.
Said some got lost in QLD due to the floods or something.

    • I got my Sackboy sitting next to me on my desk at the mo.

I read the title as "50% off a PS3". Damn.

  • $83 for the game at Big W
Sidenote: controller is $68 at Big W
