I have made large orders via online and never had this issue .. I pay via PayPal and all they require is a photo id (at drivers licence) when picking up .. nothing needed before that time .. weird you were requested to send photo proof

Had a very interesting experience with this one. As required I completed an online order to be collected at my local liquorland store. Order was for a case of beer, three bottles of wine and two of spirits amounting to about $160 and entering my credit card detail for payment. I then get an email receipting my payment, detailing the order and collection details.
A few hours elapsed until a further email plops into my inbox telling me my order is of a very unusually high volume and cost, and for my own protection I need to immediately provide photos of my credit card and drivers license or my order will not be released to the store of collection.
Sorry but for my own protection NOBODY gets a photo of my credit card - or my drivers license and I refused.
Seeya Liquorland I prefer Dan Murphy or BWS anyway.
