    Doesn't have a FHD display for $800?

    • i just had a fhd screen swapped into my 5th gen i5 acer …… seems it’s a very common upgrade but a hassle if you were looking at buying a new laptop ,

  • +2

Yep. Same issue with this deal every time. No full hd, no deal. This is middle 2018.

    • Agree, but hard to get even similar specs with local warranty at this price.

    • -2

I assume it's a way to get you to spend more money on their more expensive models, even my cheap phone from 5 years ago had a FHD display!

  • +2

No FHD and no ssd what are they thinking.

    • if they include an ssd it wou,d be small so they decide 1 tb spindle ….i got a lenovo 580 and it came with 256gb ssd which isn’t much but it has space inside for a sara drive so i added a 2 tb spindle.

problem is at $800 if you start to spec things up you hit $1000 and at that price you already get fhd, ssd, etc …..

    Any deals on a vga 640 x 480 laptop?

    • +1

I want a laptop with an optional 5 1/4 inch floppy drive. Ahhh the good old days.

    • With a 256gb eMMC?

      • a 50mb hard drive should do the job ;)

  • If this had an SSD I would be all over it

Very confusing specs.. It's like they used all the leftovers.

    • +2

they spent money on a graphics card and 12 tb ram instead of 8gb as features….guess idea was it’s cheap to add an external monitor when at home if you need fhd and will be doing hours of work ….but you can’t add a graphics card ….personally i would have preferred fhd and 8gb ram at the same price as it’s easy to add ram though expensive.

ssd, easy enough to swap out and put in a cheap 500gb and put the 1 tb spindle into a usb enclosure for backups so no waste

challenge with configurations is they can age quickly, eg you ordered stock with 128gb ssd and now 500gb can be had for $100 …makes the 128gb obsolete, but no fhd for $800 is a problem

      • do you know if its easy to change the hard drive to ssd.

  • Pretty mediocre deal, many better options out there at this price with 8th gen Intel CPU and latest MX150 graphics. If your willing to buy from Amazon US you can get a much better laptop for the same price.

This is basically the same thing for $569.00 delivered. All it's missing is the dGPU, however the iGPU is almost as good with the later generation CPU. Or if your after a dedicated graphics card there's the Acer Aspire E15 for the same price with an MX150.

Isn't as small or as aesthetically pleasing but it's a damn sight better for casual gaming.
