Hoyts Not Playing Fair with AHM's 2-4-1 Offer

Dear Hoyts,

How is it that most of your big popular movies sessions are now 10-20 minutes BEFORE the 5pm cutoff? The next sessions begin 2 hours later, forcing patrons to choose the normal timings. Totally defeats the purpose, IMO, of the entire promotion.

Yours Truly,
Another Screwed Over Ozbargainer

  • Are you saying sessions start around 7pm? Can’t say I’ve really found that.

    • Bit of an exaggeration but it usually is a bit of a wait. For instance, DP2 at Newcastle is at 1620 & then next one is at 1900. I'm seeing this across a few cinemas but not all.

      • Fair enough. I wish I had that at my locals. It always seems to be either 6 or 8:30-9pm. 7-7:30 would be the sweet spot for me as an after dinner movie.

A poll without bikies? For shame.

I can't even get Thursday session times to load. The website says they update the follow week session times on Tuesday evenings. They're still not up!

Can't say I had particularly noticed this. I have been to a couple of 5:30 sessions last month. This month I see there are a lot of sessions starting at 4:40 at my local cinema with the next not until 7pm. However, it seems like it is scheduled like this every day, not just Thursdays. Perhaps a coincidence. I don't think they are stuffing around with their entire schedule just to screw over the few people eligible for the AHM 2-4-1 on Thursday nights.

    • 1640, see, that's what I mean! I hope they don't keep it up as its very annoying. Nothing we can do about it either. Its not like the movie even begins at 1640.
