Hey guys, I write an app for iPhone called 'Link' which provides an interface for 131500 that's easier to use than their regular website but has the features that the mobile site does not, such as route planning. Recently, Apple has lifted the restriction on promo codes, and they are now available worldwide instead of just in the US iTunes store. As a result, I have a few codes to give away to you.

The first 40 posts in this thread asking for a promo code will be sent one via OzBargain. There are just a few conditions:
• As suggested by moderators, this competition is open to existing members of OzBargain only. Only users with an account created before today (23/1) are eligible.
• Please post a new comment as opposed to replying to someone else's comment.
• You must enable your personal contact form on this website. This is so that I can send you the codes. You can enable it after you post as long as it's before I try to message you. Here's a screenshot of the box you need to tick to enable it: http://cl.ly/2D1j0L192i1m3q0h3I1b - feel free to disable it again after you've received your code. Also please check that the email address associated with your account is correct, as the code will be sent there.
• As this app is only relevant to NSW, please do not ask for a promo code if you live somewhere else and do not need it.

I'll send out the codes once all the replies are in so please bear with me if there's a delay.

** Mod Ozpete: A slight delay - I forgot (actually never struck it before) that we have a limit on emails to members, when I suggested the method of distribution, so I am assisting Acky in sending these out, but its a slower process because of this spam limit

        Wow, way to unfairly and unreasonably infer. Obviously I meant that I expected you to offer this on other forums, maybe even whirlpool, which would probably be a good idea anyway. One day you're going to havebto accept that not everyone is going to pirate your software - if that is what you've inferred - either because it's not that great, or not everyone's a prick.

          1. That words sometimes dont always convey meanings properly in forums, so cut a little slack. I also interpreted your comments the same way. and voted the comment down for that reason. And really did it add anything? The offer was cast already

          If you re-read the post, he only has a limit as allowed by Apple, and yes like all "bargains" there is a limit to what is offered. Acky contacted me a few days ago and asked what we thought would be the best way to share this. So I will "accept" some of the blame if its not considered fair by all.

          BTW I wasn't given any notice of this being posted, like the other 40 I just got lucky, like you did. My post being half way through 30 minutes into deal and 60 minutes for total to go, so I could have missed out like many have

    Hey guys, unfortunately there are no more promo codes.

    The last winner was jump22. Some of the people who replied registered today (Sorry!) and some had their contact forms disabled so there's no way for me to send an email. I'm still in the process of sending out promo codes with the help of ozpete so please be patient.

    There's also a free version available at http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/link-express/id383841412?mt=8 so feel free to try that until I have some more promo codes to give away.

      A limit unfortunately means someone misses out, no matter which way its allocated, so for those it's not "fair", but every deal has a limit somewhere, be it someone who misses out today or next week.

      Alternatively no one misses out if there are no codes offered to anyone, so lets not begrudge the generosity that some at least have got here, and remember the program even its lite version which is free, has all the features except being able to save. Its not that expensive

    Give out 40 free codes and advertise your product on Australia's largest bargain site so that you get exposure. By giving out 40 codes, you probably sold 100 extra copies than usual for those who can throw a couple bucks at a product which may come in handy. Oh, and thanks for the extra long description in trying to sell your product.

    I see much exploitation as opposed to any "bargain". If you're going to have a promotion of such sorts, it would be acceptable to have it universally listed free for at least a day on iTunes.

      He contacted us and said he had 40 codes to share with ozbers and asked for advice on how to fairly distribute them. The only reason why hes distributing it is because apple gave him free codes to his own product. As soon as i saw 40 "me please" comments had been posted, i marked as expired.

      Oh, and thanks for the extra long description in trying to sell your product.

      I have never seen a bunch of irrational non-appreciative cheap-skates in my life. Honestly for all those people who missed out TOUGH LUCK! What's with people saying it's unfair, advertising etc? For gods sake acky was offering it for free to 40 people and as far as I'm concerned that is considered a bargain.

      As for not being fair - explain to me how it isn't fair. Is it because you missed out? Or is it because it's limited to 40 people? Either is not a valid reason for being unfair. What about the deals on catch of the day? They're limited in quantity and time oh no I should cry and tell them it's unfair because I'm on holidays and can't make it to a computer within the day to snap up the deal. What about when DSE or OW have a few clearance items on sale in limited numbers? Do you open Ozbargain, find the item, click reply and tell everyone who got it that it was unfair because they saw the item before you and bought all of them before you could get to it? Wait I think what would be reasonable is that we accuse DSE of being unfair and make them have the sale in significant quantities over an entire day. Oh but I'm on holidays and can't get to a computer so that's unfair. They should make it over a week.

      As for limited numbers being a advertising tool - grow up. When woolies show cases their catalogue they're enticing you in so you can purchase other items too. He said it was limited numbers and that's what it was. Had he posted this on Whirlpool I think the majority would have considered this a 'good deal' and not jump on the he's only doing it for advertising bs
